Our extensive local knowledge, along with many years' experience in the funeral directing profession, mean we are able to offer a very personal level of service that is specific to your requirements. Our funeral services are uniquely personalised to reflect the life of the individual and tailored to meet the family's needs.
In most circumstances it is a legal requirement of deaths to be registered within 5 working days. Registering the death will give you the documentation you need for the funeral, although we can start making arrangements and give you advice before that. The person who registers the death is usually a relative of the person who has died.
If the death occurs at home and was expected, then the first step that needs to happen is to call the usual doctor or duty on call doctor, who if satisfied with the cause of death, will issue the Medical Certificate of the Cause of Death to the family who can then register the death. In some cases, you may be asked to collect this certificate from the surgery.
Managing the estate of someone who has died, otherwise known as probate, can be a daunting and upsetting time. The first thing to do is find out if the deceased left a valid Will, as there are different legal requirements for administering the estate if no valid Will was written. If you can't find a Will, a Will Search can be carried out by a professional legal firm.

After the extremely sudden passing of my partner in October 2021 and after calling around all of the funeral directors in Frome, the obvious choice was Wayne.
From the initial calls, his tone on the phone was so compassionate and caring. His office space is very homely, calm and feels like a safe place to talk.
Nothing was ever too much, I visited him nearly every day and i could spend as long as I wanted / needed with him in the chapel of rest. My partner was cared for with such dignity and respect with all the small things never going unnoticed which had a positive impact on the experience

After the death of my father, Wayne was recommended to my family as someone who really takes pride in his profession and goes that extra mile to ensure all the finer details are catered for.
He did not disappoint, in fact he made the entire process less stressful and easier to mange for a family grieving and not knowing where to start.
My father's funeral was the best send off we could of asked for and for that we thank you Wayne, you truly looked after my father and treated him and his funeral with the dignity and respect that we would of wished for.

My terminally ill daughter spoke to Wayne before she died about what she wanted and from then on he helped us through everything that had to be done, from recommending a celebrant to helping with the flowers. His office is a calm, welcoming space and the small chapel of rest is intimate and peaceful. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help and responded quickly to message and emails. Everything at the funeral went smoothly thanks to his quiet presence. I can’t recommend Wayne highly enough.

Wayne handled all the funeral details quietly and efficiently, with superb communication throughout. It seemed nothing was too much trouble, no detail too small. All our many, many questions were welcomed and answered. My father was treated with respect and dignity and Wayne provided great reassurance, sympathy, guidance and support for our family. We felt he was genuinely concerned about our well-being, in addition to the preparation and detail of the service itself. We are extremely grateful to Wayne and his team and highly recommend them.

A wonderful service provided by Wayne for my step mothers funeral. Nothing was too much trouble and attention to detail was impeccable, making a very sad and difficult time a little easier to bear. No one can prepare you for the death of a loved one, the emotions, fears, tears …….never mind the arrangements and administration that goes with it. Where do you start ?
