Initially established by Watkin Henry Preene as a Wheelwrights business in Llantrisant where they also carried out undertaking for the local community. The Preene family have served the surrounding communities of Llantrisant and surrounding areas for over seventy years and they have built up a very good relationship and reputation with local families and clergy.

Services
These arrangements are discussed with you by our expert professionally qualified staff, either at our premises, or if you prefer in the privacy of your own home, and tailored to meet your exact requirements. The date and time of the funeral are arranged by us in negotiation with the family and Minister - and availability of the crematorium or cemetery selected.
If the death occurs at home (and once a doctor has given his permission), we will attend as soon as requested and remove the deceased to our premises, the deceased will then remain in one of our Reposing Rooms until the funeral.
If the death occurs in a hospital, the deceased is automatically taken to the hospital mortuary, and must remain there until the family has registered the death and provided us with a Certificate for Burial or Cremation (known as the "Green Form").If the death occurs in hospital, the certificate will usually be available for collection from the Bereavement Office.

I am using my son's Google to write my review of W.H. Preene & Son. On the day my dear husband died, I only made one phone call which was to Mr. Preene, who I remembered dealt so kindly and efficiently with the funerals of both my parents in law. From the moment of my call, the funeral arrangements of my husband went smoothly and with compassion, a great relief as there is so much to deal with following a sudden death. On the actual day of the funeral Mr. Preene had suggested a detour around Llantrisant a town so beloved of my husband, and this enabled many people to line the street as the Covid

Very pleasant, professional, and compassionate. They were so good with Mum's funeral that we booked them again when Dad died. Not the kind of recommendation you really want to ever have to give, but yes - recommended by a repeat customer. Took all our details and preferences, and then we didn't have to worry about a thing. Took charge at the service with the big things (coffin etc) and also the little things, like where you're supposed to sit, when to leave and through which door etc - stuff you never realise you have no idea about until it's happening, and definitely aren't thinking clearly about

I have nothing but heartfelt thanks for Mr Preene and Paul, for the respect and service they provided for myself and my family after the tragic loss of my husband in early February.
Nothing will take away the utter despair we are all still feeling but Preenes' did everything in their power to make my husbands' final journey a beautiful and special occasion; from the very first phonecall I knew he was in safe hands.
Covid has taken so much from me and my family but Preenes managed to offer that little bit of light to an otherwise dark time for me. Absolute professionals and I cannot recommend

I arranged to drop flowers for my cousins funeral I rang on the Monday as I live 30 miles away the only day I was able was the Tuesday, my cousin was being cremated on the Thursday, when I arrived they were loading a coffin the reason I say loading was that’s exactly the care they were giving it was tilted and being pushed in , one approached and said they for now I said no I telephoned yesterday another younger man said yes if you want to put them on the step I’ll put them safe till Thursday, on Thursday soon as they arrived I couldn’t see mine nor my other cousins flowers so on leaving

I have never posted a review before, however I have experienced such great service with the funeral of my Aunt last Year and my Mum last month, I felt compelled to do so. I cannot thank Mr Preene enough, I would recommend to anyone that has to deal with such a horrible process to engage Mr Preenes services. All the stresses of the occasion were taken away, nothing was too much trouble and everyone involved, showed genuine compassion, understanding along with professionalism at all times.
