Diya Royal is the first combined 'Indian and Nepalese (Gurkha)' restaurant in Bedford. Foods are derived from traditional Indian and Nepalese cuisine where the dishes are cooked in the authentic style of India and Nepal. The food philosophy is driven by a desire to present the expansive Indian repertoire, bursting with flavour and originality including Nepalese, British and Indo-Chinese food as a new dining experience.

It's my first time ordering food from here. I'm so happy that I have finally found a good restaurant in Bedford/Kempston. The food was fresh and delicious. Polite and friendly staff. I can not wait till I can dine at the restaurant.

Will never come back, very disappointed with service, the waiter was very rude when we wanted to tell that we were waiting for 1 hour for only starters. He said he can't do anything, restaurant is more focusing on takeaways and hence extremely slow service.

First time I have ordered there kinda disappointed in the food, my partner brought prawn curry and it was so watery.
My chicken was very dried didn’t taste as same as other chicken purée very oily on my Nan bread that I had. Food was put off. Red onion sauce was terrible, even the popdom. Definitely would never order again spend 25 pound on worse food ever.

Still the best curry you can get outside Yorkshire, occasionally has had some service issues but Chanda has always been a fantastic hostess, can’t fault the food…especially the authentic Nepalese dishes.

Tonight we have experienced extremely poor service . Despite booking 2 days in advance we were told our 2 hour wait for a main course was due to being busy . When explaining that staffing should be allocated… appropriately according to booking and demand I was told it’s not usually busy on Tuesdays . The manager delegated the poor waiter to deal with the issue .Food nice , but after 2 hours the novelty of eating out had worn off. Won’t return despite previous good experience . Customer service is everything and lacked hugely tonight

We have used Diya Royal on numerous occasions but sadly the last takeaway we got was of poor standard. Tikka masala sauce was like Tomato sauce only and one of the other mains was very salty. The veg in one… side was undercooked. We did contact them by email to let them know as it’s normally so good but heard nothing. We won’t be going here again sadly.

Amazing!!! Not sure what else I can say.. the food was divine and the staff and service were second to none!! Such friendly people and the knowledge was awesome. The fish chilli starter was probably one of the best starters I've ever had!!!! I cant say thank u enough
