Wilmslow & Hale Physio
Expert care of Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal Problems, Spinal Problems and Sports Injuries, Pelvic and Women's Health Issues, Headache, TMJ and Vestibular Disorders. The whole experience of going to Wilmslow Physio was exceptionally good, particularly during this pandemic. Their attention to detail regarding hygiene/cleanliness was very high.

Why let pain get the better of you? We are a local family-run Physiotherapy practice built on 18 years of success getting people back to the activity they love. We have the experience to treat it effectively and to give you proper, sensible advice and self-management strategies. We are experts in dealing with musculoskeletal pain and injury.

Howard grew up on a sheep farm near Inverell, NSW, Australia. After a stint in the Royal Australian Air Force, a Physics degree and a distinguished career in the restaurants and bars of Melbourne he trained as a Physiotherapist at Latrobe University. He came to England in 1991 after working in Montreal and moved to this area to establish Wilmslow Physio in 2001 with his wife Joanne.
We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and inspiring people to become part of our team. We don't have any vacancies currently, but if you are interested in Reception work or are a Physiotherapist interested in private practice work, don't let that stop you sending through your CV for future vacancies.
Neck and back pain are the things we treat most commonly. Most people suffer back and neck pain at some stage in their life - nearly 85% of the population. Some neck and back pains resolve quickly and naturally and don't cause too much of a problem - you shouldn't worry about it at all if that's the case.
The SIJ is also a common source of pain for others and contributes to many types of problem. Injection studies show it to be the source of between 15-30% of buttock and leg pain and it can cause pain and pins and needles felt as far down as the foot. Sacroiliac joint problems can inhibit normal control of the pelvis, hip and leg.
We use the term pelvic AND women's health now because more and more we are seeing men with chronic pelvic pain problems and continence issues. It's not that they didn't exist before - there is now just more acceptance and openness about such problems in men, and a realisation that it's not always prostatitis that causes pelvic pain in men!
