Able 2 Physiotherapy & Pilates
Able 2 Physio is one of the leading physiotherapists in the Poynton area providing fast and effective Physiotherapy and have a special interest in Scar Treatment. We offer a FREE face to face consultation if you want any advice or are unsure if physiotherapy can help you and we always provide hands on individual treatment, targeted to your needs.

Physiotherapy Assessment - Able 2 Physio will give you a thorough assessment, and after diagnosing the problem will explain the reason for your symptoms in clear, easy to understand language. We look for the imbalances in your body that could be causing the complaint, then work with you to optimise your body's alignment and function, targeting our treatment to the problems identified.
Services
Able 2 Physio is committed to providing fast and effective physiotherapy treatment for as long as you need it. Your progress will be reviewed on a regular basis and you will be advised on how beneficial physiotherapy is for you at that time. We will be completely honest with you and not prescribe physiotherapy to continue if we feel it is not going to help you or once you have achieved your potential.
Physiotherapy is very effective in treating a large range of conditions or injuries. We commonly treat back and neck pain, sciatica, frozen shoulders, knee pain, arthritis, joint replacements, fractures, the list goes on and on. Able 2 Physio uses a wide range of techniques to help ease your symptoms and then works with you to try and prevent them from coming back in the future.
This means it is safe and enjoyable for you to do even if you have had an injury or suffer from a long standing condition like back pain. The type of Pilates taught at ABLE2 is Body Control Pilates. Body Control Pilates is a progressive approach to Pilates which places emphasis on breaking complex exercises down into stages which allows anybody of any experience and ability to take part safely in Pilates.
During Sports or any form of exercise, you can overuse some parts of your body and create an imbalance in the muscles. This can lead to poor performance or even injury. Sports massage is effective in increasing blood flow, releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to your body, thus reducing the potential stresses on your joints, ligaments and tendons during exercise.
Able 2 Physio can give you a 'Postural MOT'. This involves an analysis of your posture and we report back to you about where your 'Hot Spots' are. Hot Spots are areas of your body that are probably already giving you some pain, or are likely to cause you problems in the future.

A Postural Realignment, which helps you correct your posture will also involve hands on treatment, palpating the spine and other relevant joints, in order to identify and start to reduce any stiffness in them.Gentle handling techniques will also be used to try and realign your posture during the session.

I had been suffering from a sore hamstring for over a month so booked in to see Vicky at Able2 Physio, my local clinic in Poynton. Vicky was very thorough during her initial examination and quickly identified that I wasn't injured at all - just not activating properly! Within days of the session and completing my assigned exercises, I was pain free. Thank you!

3 weeks out of doing the Manchester Marathon, with a foot injury, Vickie found the issue and exercises and treatment to fix the problem.
Three treatments later and I ran the Marathon and a PB, would highly recommend ABLE2.

A huge thank you to Vicky and the team. I had significant issues with my neck and jaw through various accidents/skiing falls. The progress was seen over a 4 week period and now my pain is massively improved. I’ll be seeing Vicky once a month for the foreseeable to help manage the symptoms ongoing.
They’re a great practise! Highly recommended.

I contacted Vickie for help with lower back pain and I could not recommend her enough. From a few sessions my then frequent back pain has gone to none-existent. She has so much knowledge and really explains in a friendly and informative manner on the possible causes and provides detailed plans of exercises that focus on the affected areas.
Through my sessions I also decided to try her weekly Pilates class to improve on my fitness and am so glad I did! I join in on the Monday evening class which is really convenient after work. Even though its an online class at present, the level of detail she

After experiencing pain in my right knee following long runs and being unable to bend down unsupported I made an appointment to see Vickie at Able2 and I’m so happy that I did.
Vickie was great, she carried out an assessment of me and was quickly able to diagnose the issue. It transpired that my hip flexors on the right side we’re doing nothing and my quads were doing all the work which was resulting in the strain/pain in my knee. Vickie is very knowledgeable and throughout my visits she always explained how the body works which was fascinating
Vickie provided me with a series of exercise

I first saw Vickie in November 2020 when I experienced pain in my shoulder during a gym exercise, having had surgery on my shoulder 25 years ago following a sports injury, I feared that surgical intervention would once again be required. I found Vickie very approachable, knowledgeable and willing to answer my questions about what was wrong and we quickly worked through a series of exercises to strengthen and stabalise the joint such that I could be discharged in January with no pain ready for the gyms to re-open! I would recommend Vickie without hesitation should you be suffering from any pain

This Physio Centre is fabulous! Vicky is first class at what she does, and really knows her stuff. We have been on two separate occasions with my 12 year old daughter who got knee injuries when cheer-leading, and both times she knew exactly what the issue was, and fixed it in a few sessions with massage and exercises. Excellent, friendly, and professional service all round - and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this company.
