Mitre Hotel
A refined yet relaxed boutique hotel on the banks of the River Thames next to Hampton Court Palace. After an extensive makeover, the Mitre is where quirky British sensibility meets elegant authentic luxury. We blend the old with the new, the refined with the comfortable, and the local with the worldly.

Food and Drink is the heartbeat of the hotel. Fresh British produce in a choice of Coppernose, our carefree and easy to enjoy Caf and Wine Bar or 1665, our sophisticated Riverside Brasserie with lively central bar and terrace. Beautiful classic bedrooms that are big on comfort and romance. Playful use of colour and antiques lend soulfulness and give each room their own unique character.
Services
The Mitre is a building steeped in history, but with stylish interiors and modern touches to reflect our personality. We want you to feel like you're at home, sitting in your favourite armchair, drink in hand, with luxury at your feet. Discover the neighbourhood and the many great experiences and days out to enjoy from our doorstep.
A key feature of the new Mitre Hotel is the stunning interiors from designer Nicola Harding. With a clear mission to create places rich in soulfulness and atmosphere, Nicola's commercial projects include boutique hotels The Garden House at Beaverbrook in Surrey, and The Rose Hotel in Deal. Nicola also has private client work spanning listed townhouses, country homes and houseboats for film directors, artists and families of all shapes and sizes.
Set on the banks of the River Thames opposite Hampton Court Palace, The Mitre Hotel has a rich history as a place to stay dating back as far as Charles II in 1665.

Following a complete transformation, the new Mitre is a sophisticated and relaxed luxury boutique hotel with two restaurants & bars, unique events space, a riverside terrace (with the world's first Whispering Angel wine concession), vintage food truck, private boat launch and 36 individually-designed bedrooms and suites.
We have three family rooms, which have bunk beds and can comfortably sleep a family of up to 4 guests. All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the Hotel must be accompanied by an adult and must always be supervised by an adult. If you require a cot in your room - 20 per night. Some of our other rooms can also accommodate older children on an extra Z bed (50 per night).
Well behaved dogs are welcomed at The Mitre. We have 9 dog-friendly rooms on the Ground Floor with access to the courtyard. There is a 20 per night charge per dog. A maximum of 2 dogs per room. We provide a dog welcome pack on arrival. No dogs can be left in the room unattended. You can dine with your dog in the Coppernose, Orangery and Terraces.

NY Eve - first time visit for me. Great dinner, good atmosphere and corking 3 piece band. Really enjoyable and great set up with the outdoor fire pit for firework watching. Recommended and our group of 8 look forward to being back next NY Eve

The service was good, rooms were clean. Hotel is very animal friendy but at the same time is absolutely horrible if you don't eat animals. No breakfast options and not much for dinner, in a 4* hotel in 2021 London. We paid for dinner yet hotel only provided what they think was breakfast. Location and service was great but for 250£ a night I could have gotten much more for the money.

I booked & paid for champagne for 2 & a £60 voucher as a surprise for my sons birthday celebration meal with his wife, which I had spoken to someone in Reception about, who assured me this would work & took my payment for the champagne on the phone & advised me to pay online for the voucher & send to the Reception email address with their booking info, which I did.
I also phoned prior to their booking to confirm that all was in order - I couldn't get through but left my name & number & said it was regarding their booking.
I didn't receive any call back but assumed the arrangements would be carried

Afternoon tea. Food fine but sadly no finesse to the experience as tables sticky, floor dirty, staff overworked and unable to provide micj service (no milk for tea, cutlery missing, top ups of water etc - difficult to get someone to ask each time). Shame as it looks great from the outside. Price ok and food freshly prepped.

Fantastic hotel and restaurant. Service is always great, and nothing is too much.
The food in the restaurants is amazing ever since the revamp.

A place where every individual feels special.
From our welcome right through to leaving two days later, we had such a fantastic time, the Mitre really feels like a world within a world.
My room, 202, was beautifully designed, I love all the little interior details and the bathtub was luxurious. The hotel has a lot of character and has many different places to explore, may it be the restaurant, bar, terrace, Library with a duke box..list goes on.
The location is fabulous, right opposite the Hampton Court and ice rink, 10 minutes from Kingston and you eat you dinner in the restaurant over looking

A veritable winter wonderland right now. The Mitre is one of the classiest venues in this part of Greater London.
The mixologist truly knows their stuff. The cocktails are simply beautiful.
The food is very good too.
The stand-out factor which makes this place a five star venue is the service, which is exceptional. Our hose for the evening was Joe. Joe was absolutely top-class. Friendly, informative and driven to provide 'above and beyond' service.
Do note, this isn't the kind of place you go for a cheap bite to eat. With five stars comes a high price bracket. However, a wonderful treat experience

Went to the bar for a drink had to give my name and phone number before being able to get in, had four pints and two cocktails between four of us in a pretty soulless seated area. Get the bill £38, reasonable enough. As we leave told we had been undercharged, bill was £60 ! gave the guy £20 note " we don't take cash"...Completely average place, went to the Mute Swan next door next door, much nicer, more reasonable and better service..
