Cafe Canna
Cafe Canna is an award-winning little licensed cafe and restaurant on the shores of the remote and beautiful Hebridean Isle of Canna. We offer fresh, locally sourced seafood, game, and vegetarian options, as well as breakfast, lunch, and a fully stocked bar. Our seafood is sourced directly from the clear surrounding waters.

Sea and land vegetables are foraged or grown where possible, and meat provided by responsible local producers. There are sailings every day except Tuesday and Thursday. It's a stunning trip from Mallaig, with regular wildlife sightings as well as views of Skye, the Cullins, and the other Small Isles (Muck, Eigg, Rum).

Lovely food, and front of house staff are brilliant. The only shame was the website example menu mentions breakfast. I understand that meals expressed on the menu may not be available but don't have an example menu with a breakfast section and breakfast items on it if you are not open for breakfast.

It's rare I write a review for anywhere. However the Canna café is truly a hidden gem. If you come expecting everything to run like clockwork then you're on the wrong island, Canna is remote, isolated and this is a pub offering a brilliant refuge for weary legs. The Café owners are immensely helpful and will go above and beyond. Incredible food and prices which match the high quality of the ingredients involved.
Ignore all the 1 star reviews, they Cleary did not get the spirit of Canna. Go with an open mind and a hungry stomach and I grantee you the Canna Café will provide!

Staff were friendly but the food isn't the best and it is very expensive. No childs menu either so if going with children you only have a choice of a burger or fish and chips

We had a wonderful evening at Café Canna! We preordered our food as advised on the website for certain dishes, and the owners very kindly worked around the dietary requirements of a fussy eater, and they were quite happy for us to delay our booking by an hour to give us some extra time for a walk around the connecting island of Sanday! There weren't any crabs caught on the day, but to my friend's delight there were lobsters, and not only that but the gentleman who had caught the lobster was sat next to us in the restaurant, and demonstrated how to break through the exoskeleton to reach the meat

When we planned our trip we looked at the menu online and it seemed great so we were looking forward to enjoying some delicious food while on the Island. Sadly all I experienced was disappointment. It states on the menu online and on your sign outside that you do lunches and evening meals and takeaways are available. Yet we were told that you no longer do takeaways for evening meals. You really need to update this on your website and signage. This is something people need to know prior to coming to a remote Island. The next morning we walked past and it wasn't open. It opens approx after 10am and

We ate here twice while staying in Canna, the popular seafood platter was a real treat, really fresh lobster, crab and langoustines. I also had the Laksa which was a interesting curry with local seaweed, octopus and mackerel. Would thoroughly recommend both.

Friendly atmosphere and great food, excellent value considering they are the only place to eat on the island!
Seafood platter is something else, remember to order ahead for seafood. Also advisable to book as only a small place, seats outside too but beware of the weather and/or midgies

Just had a fantastic fish and chips. The batter was light and crisp and the fish was clearly very fresh. Much recommended if you are passing.

Only a short stop for a late lunch whilst on an AquaExplore boat trip hour long stopover. The homemade lentil chickpea and chilli soup was superb. The dinner menu made me want to go back and try the salt and pepper squid squid starter, rabbit stew and lobster.
The location is idyllic.
There will have to be a next time!
