This is where trainee Commando's started their legendary training in the Second World War with a march from the station to Castle Commando. The line is also famous for its association with the Harry Potter movies, while the exclusive Royal Scotsman train stops on the platform outside our door overnight most Fridays in summer.

We booked the snugg at the Old station restaurant for my mother in laws 70th birthday, the staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make it a special evening. They decorated the room for us with banners and balloons and gave the birthday girl a free drink and a birthday desert and a birthday card. We all enjoyed the meal and very much appreciated all the extra efforts made to make the night special. Thank you all very much, hope to return soon.

Called in without a booking, and although there was a sign up stating fully booked one of waitresses (owners?) - Alison who popped her head out and said although they were fully booked they could fit us in right then. Fantastic. As soon as they saw our small scruffy dog they couldn't do enough to help us and him (water and biscuits waiting for him). We ordered our food and it promptly arrived, freshly cooked and piping hot. Sharon (owner) came over and checj all 3 of us were ok. Lindsey brought over the drinks with a warm smile (even with a mask). Would certainly recommend this restaurant. The

The fire was roaring and we were welcomed by a very friendly waitress who looked after us for the evening. The food was outstanding! We had starters, parsnip soup & haggis with tatties, followed by the mains, succulent steak pie, which melted in my mouth and Venison casserole..tremendous! And dessert Chocolate & Raspberry Tart that finished off the meal! Great value for money & thoroughly recommended!

Service was top notch, 5 stars- really friendly, cheerful & absolutely great chat. We spoke over hyper mobility as my partner had just sprained his ankle, & she even brought us a bag of ice!
The drinks were also quite good, 5 stars - the french martini execution surprised me (they had Chambord! Nice!) & The bartender was also super friendly.
The food, however, could use some TLC. The fries weren't fully cooked, the garlic cheese bread had loads of garlic (YUM!) But the cheese wasn't fully melted, & the buttermilk chicken tasted a bit like it was fried in refried oil. The steak was asked to be
