The business began life, named after its' founders as, Longhurst and Messer (Holdings) Limited in 1964; providing both general insurance and independent financial advice. In 1974 the decision was taken to split the business with the insurance side becoming known as Insurance Services (Surrey).

Surrey was included to reflect the fact that, in the early years the business dealt almost exclusively with personal and commercial clients in the local community.Today, we retain a significant number of these customers, many of whom have been clients for over 30 years! In the modern era the business has expanded substantially and we now serve customers nationally and internationally.
