Welcome to Ravensworth Care Home in Chesterfield, specialists in the provision for care for adults with Dementia, registered for 28 occupants. We aim to provide a comfortable home environment for each and every individual, providing a high standard of care at all times. Ravensworth stands in nearly an acre of beautifully maintained gardens, patios and pathways, all of which are accessible by wheelchair users.

Services
Dementia is a collective word used to describe a collection of symptoms; it is a progressive condition affecting mental ability. Behavioural difficulties and / or personality changes can accompany the main symptom of short-term memory loss. The effects of Dementia can be both devastating and distressing for the individual and the family concerned.
Ravensworth Care Home is a purpose built, 28 bed care home in Chesterfield that provides personal care for people with Dementia. There are 24 bedrooms, 20 single rooms and 4 double rooms, all of which have central heating and are equipped with a wash basin. There is a choice of 3 sitting rooms, all with TV's and there is a large dining room where activities take place on a daily basis.
Miss Spray joined the care home through a Youth Training Scheme in 1986. She has attained the following qualifications during that time: City & Guilds in Care (NVQ2 equivalent), NEBS management, NVQ4, Registered Manager's Award and Dementia Alertness. She is also trained in 'recognising & alerting' others to suspected abuse and "Food for thought" diet and nutrition, as well as attaining certificates in all of the in-house training sessions.
Activities are individually planned to meet the needs of our Service Users. These needs are established from discussions between the Service Users, their families, friends and the care staff. Library facilities are also available from the local community, with a selection of books and magazines for Service Users to enjoy.
Ravensworth Care Home is regulated by the 'Care Quality Commission' (CQC), and is regularly inspected accordingly. Inspection visits are always unannounced. Ravensworth Care Home is also a member of the National Care Homes Association. The company is an enlightened, active organisation that responds to, and is responsive to the personal needs of individuals and their families to ensure a total care environment.
