What a lovely experience for the one night we spent at The Lynch for our Wedding Anniversary. Set in beautiful grounds with Black Swans waddling about just outside the breakfast room which overlooked the grounds. The breakfast was quite wonderful. All the produce was sourced from local provision fresh strawberries, blueberries and orange and grapefruit segments freshly sliced from actual fruit.
Roy Copeland, owner of The Lynch Country House, has written a book about his life's adventure. If you would like to purchase a copy please contact us. My children and others, to whom I have recounted various aspects of my life history, have suggested that I put it down on paper. I decided to split my story into four parts - namely, my musical career, my Canadian career, my time in the family textile business and my experience as a hotelier.
A couple of minutes walk will take you into the Saxon town of Somerton, possession of the Saxon Kings until well after the Middle Ages and the ancient capital of Wessex. Today Somerton boasts a mix of impressive older buildings, a substantial 13th Century church and the grand centre piece of the ancient Market Cross.
We try to be relaxed and informal so that you can enjoy your stay with us at the Lynch Country House. We do, however, also have to be mindful that we run a business and have certain responsibilities to all our guests and of course, we have to have a few house rules in place which form part of our terms and conditions which you accept when making your booking.
