The Old Vicarage Hotel is just one of a few Grade II listed buildings in Bridgwater and dates back to 1327. A charming building with some wonderful historical links to Bridgwater's past, including reputably being the place Judge Jeffreys stayed and, also, providing lodgings for Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who designed the train station and a bridge in the town.
We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved here at our unique hotel. Please take a look around and if you have any queries, please get in touch and we'll be more than happy to help. We've 17, recently renovated en-suite B&B bedrooms. Some of our rooms overlook our pretty cottage-style gardens and some have a beautiful view of St. Mary's Church.

This elegant and spacious room with its vaulted ceiling and beams is located on the first floor and has a brass, super king, four-poster bed with a Hypnos mattress. There is also a cosy sofa to relax on. To add to this, it has an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a separate shower. Please be aware that the stairs to this room are very steep as this part of the building is very old.
Based on two people sharing. A private staircase takes you up to this double room with its own terrace overlooking the garden. It has a double bed with an en-suite shower room. This charming, single, second floor room is located in the eaves and has an en-suite shower room. It's quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle.

My brother staying there while he visits me. Both the manager and owner treated myself and my girlfriend like friends when we went to meet with my brother there for a meal. So Attentive! The food itself was excellent! And it would say very reasonably priced for such a very cosy and old hotel with such history.

Had Sunday lunch which was delicious- the best roast beef. Warm and friendly staff who were very welcoming. We were seated in the covered courtyard but because it was a hot day there was little ventilation. Also, perhaps some of the catering equipment could have been moved to make the dining environment more pleasant. Great attention to detail regarding the interior but need to extend to courtyard when catering for larger parties. Having said all that I hope to return when next in Bridgwater.

Great couple of nights at the Old Vicarage recently, lovely old building dating back to the 1300's , located in a great position opposite the Church. We had a beautiful old room with lovely ensuite. We had dinner in the hotel both nights and it was absolutely delicious , credit to the chef - amazing, lovely breakfast too. Special mention and thanks has to go to Rob and Connor , a real credit to the hotel, friendly, polite, efficient , top guys both. Thanks for everything , we look forward to returning soon , Peter & Claire π
