Before you can start learning to drive, you must have a provisional driving licence. Normally, for car drivers, the earliest date your provisional licence can become valid is your 17th birthday, however you can apply for your driving licence up to three months before your 17th birthday. It is important to learn safe driving practice with a qualified instructor from the beginning of your driving career because bad habits are hard to break.
Everyone learns to drive in different ways. When you learn to drive with Godbolt's Driving School, we will tailor your driving lesson plan to help you pass your driving test and be confident behind the wheel. We want you to learn to drive at a pace you feel comfortable with. It may be that your driving lessons may have to be scheduled around a busy lifestyle, and we will do our best to be as flexible as possible.
After you have your provisional driving licence you will need to start thinking about taking your driving theory test. The theory test consists of two parts; a multiple-choice section and the hazard perception section. If you pass one part of the theory test, but fail the other, unfortunately you will fail the whole test, and need to take both parts again!
The final part of the UK driving test, and the road to gaining a full UK driving license is the practical test. The practical test is to make sure those who pass are competent and safe in the basic skills of driving in the UK. At the test centre, the examiner will need to see your provisional licence and may ask to see your theory test pass certificate.
Pass Plus is a DVSA approved training course designed to be taken after passing your driving test. You will learn how to deal with various challenges that you may not have encountered during your pre-test lessons. Thereby helping you to be a safer, more confident driver. Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident within the first two years after passing their driving test, than at any other time in their driving career.
