One of the finest golf clubs in Yorkshire, both in terms of beauty and as a test of golf. Ilkley Golf Club is where Honorary Life Member Colin Montgomerie learnt his golf. It is also proud to have another Ryder Cup Captain, Mark James, as an Honorary Life Member. In addition a host of famous golfing greats have graced the original Rombalds Moor course and our current location.

These include James Taylor, James Braid, Harry Vardon and Tom Vardon, John Ball, Harold Hilton, Peter Thomson, Christy O'Connor Snr, Gordon Brand and our current member, former Walker Cup Captain Rodney Foster. The Club also has strong connections with some of the world's finest course designers such as Harry Colt, Alister MacKenzie and James Braid.

If you are playing golf in Yorkshire then a visit to Ilkley is a must. Nestled in the beautiful Wharfe Valley with the famous Moor as a backdrop, Ilkley is one of the most picturesque courses in the country. However golfers must not be fooled by its beauty, as the River Wharfe is an ever-present threat for the first seven holes of this tree-lined course.

The course itself is wonderful and makes people return time after time. Tee times on the online booking system will be released 5 days prior to the date of play. Have played the course a few times, always a friendly welcome, we had some food which was included in the deal that was very good, and the the course for January was in good condition.

Very pleasant walk by the river with each tee flowing on from the last green. Nice clubhouse on the hillside with very good food served.

As a golfer myself, why must all this quality floodplain land be used for the leisure of a few? A team of golfers pointed us to the exits in unison, just for trying to walk across. Scary.

A gem of a course which is always in great condition. We've only ever played it at the twilight rate because we couldn't afford to play at peak times. The course has always been quiet when we've played. The only part I've not enjoyed is the drive to the course - your clutch might get tested. From Manchester, it's taken us nearly an hour and a half to get to.
