Crossroads Counselling is a small, independent charity based on the Roman Road in Bethnal Green, London, E2. We offer a professional counselling service to anyone aged 18 and over who lives, works or worships (of any faith) in Tower Hamlets and is on a low income. The terms counselling and counsellor and psychotherapy and psychotherapist are often used interchangeably. We use the terms counselling and counsellor throughout our website to mean both.
Services
Crossroads Counselling is a Christian faith-based organisation deeply rooted in our local community of Tower Hamlets. Our vision is inspired by the text of Isaiah 61 - the Lord's message of freedom. Our concern is for those people who feel trapped by the weight of their mental and emotional struggles.
As trustees of a Christian faith-based organisation our Board believes in the God who is Love and in the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Our trustees volunteer with Crossroads as an act of service and worship. Their connections with Tower Hamlets are varied but all are committed to the hope that Crossroads brings to people in our community who are hurting and wanting change.
Trustees act in a voluntary capacity. The Board meets approximately every six weeks, with an annual general meeting once a year. There is a time commitment, therefore, to being a trustee. Over and above that Crossroads looks for individuals with qualities such as selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership.
Membership is about active participation as supporters signal their intention to become involved in the life of Crossroads. In support of a community response to the needs of local people struggling with mental and emotional health and well-being. As an act of service, expressing their Christian faith through active participation in a local community project.
