Belmont Vets origins began in Hereford in 1919 and the surgery was originally located at 1 St Peters Square in the centre of town. The register of Veterinary Surgeons first records Captain John Barker and John Proctor as vets at this address in 1921. However, the practice was purchased from an S.Beeson in 1919.
The house was converted to provide operating theatre, radiography suite, laboratory and extensive inpatient care facilities. The surgery was again modernised and updated in 2001. Although for the last 12 years the vets had worked as two species-specific teams we still traded as Belmont Veterinary Centre from number 94, with the nurses and receptionists assisting both teams.

The Under Ones Club - offering advice for new puppy & kitten owners and regular visits to help your new addition get used to coming to the vets. The Well Pet Clinic - offering 3 monthly health checks and advice for our patients over 1 year old.
Pet insurance provides cover for veterinary fees in the event that your pet becomes injured or unwell. It can provide peace of mind that you're in a position to afford all the veterinary care your pet may need. With veterinary medicine employing expensive medical techniques and medication, and with pet owners caring more and more about their pets' health, pet insurance is becoming increasingly popular.
If your insurer asks you to complete your claim online, what we need from you will be greatly simplified. Please note the process may differ between insurers. Attach the clinical history, along with a copy of any payments you've made (you do not have to keep any receipts). Please note the processing of direct claims is discretionary and based on the relationship between the insurer and the clinic.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
