Services
Sargeant Architects are able to assist with all of the RIBA Work Stages from inception to completion. We are also Principal Designers and are able to advise our clients on the Health & Safety aspects of our projects. Every project is unique and fee levels depend on the complexity and the extent of services required.
The project involved a modern, part single, part two storey extension to the rear of the property to provide improved living accommodation on the ground floor and additional bedrooms on the first floor. The new family area incorporates double acting sliding doors which open up the space onto a raised terrace with attractive views across the Berkhamsted valley.
The project involved the radical remodelling of an existing house in the rural Hertfordshire countryside. The existing detached garage was removed and replaced with a new garage with exposed oak framing to create a better connection to the house. The front door and porch structure were relocated more centrally with oak framing to match and a rear extension provides additional living accommodation.
This project involved sensitive additions to a large Victorian property in the Berkhamsted Conservation Area. The house had a large attached coal house to the rear which we proposed to remove and rebuild as a kitchen utilising a similar footprint and form to the existing structure.

The new extension benefits from a large corner window directing views towards the garden and has been finished in stonework and brick detailing to reflect the materiality of the original house. The large loft space was converted to form two new bedrooms and ensuites with dormer windows to the rear and the original chimneys have been retained with exposed brickwork.
The main aspect of this project was to re-order a series of disconnected rooms on the ground floor to create a better connected, open-plan kitchen and family area. To the rear, a full width bi-fold window opens fully towards the garden and to the side a new bi-fold door opens onto a redesigned raised patio which sits above the garden.
