Shared Earth
Shared Earth is a leading retailer of ethical products. We carry the widest selection of sustainable and recycled products in the UK, sourced from countries all around the globe. Our performance is regularly audited by WFTO (the World Fair Trade Organisation). We would love you to join us in our mission to tackle the climate crisis and create a fairer, more sustainable world.

Stop that waste! Old tyres? Fantastic! They'll provide a load of fun. These kids are from Karm Marg, one of our suppliers in India. It's a home for street children, whose aim is to make them self-reliant in life. It's funded by upcycling paper, textiles and other scraps into bags and other products, and (like the children, who've all had a pretty tough time earlier on in their lives), giving them a second chance.
Services
Shared Earth began as a small shop in York in 1986. Jeremy Piercy, founder and Managing Director, travelled to India after leaving school and wanted to do something to help redress the imbalance of wealth in the world, work together with people from different cultures, and at the same time earn a living.
These beautiful handmade pieces are made in Bali by small family units. Sheets of glass are hand cut into the smaller mosaic tiles you see on the final product. They're very skilled and will often sit on the floor in their gardens and hand place the tiles in such an amazing artistic way as to produce the final flawless piece and get it pretty perfect every time.
Handmade in India, this range of Organic Goodness incense, candles, wax melts, scented bracelets and bags, reed diffusers, oils and air fresheners is environmentally friendly, non toxic, made from natural products, and is in recycled packaging. You'll fall in love with these exotic scents that smell divine.
Our Rice Husk coffee cups contain no plastics and are BPA and toxin free, so nothing nasty to leach into your drink. Unlike bamboo cups (at least all we are aware of) our rice husk cups are genuinely biodegradable as they do not contain melamine, which is a plastic. Our Testing: The bamboo cups, which we used to use, all ended up with nasty stains in them which could only be removed with even nastier chemicals.

Lovely place with such unique things! Unfortunately didn’t buy anything as had no way of getting it back home to Leeds but a beautiful, sustainable shop nonetheless 💚

My wife and I are always drawn to this shop when we wander down Bold St, such a great store. We pick up a few unusual items or non-standard trinkets from this place and love visiting each time.

Negative energy within store. There is a few amazing products here but no genuine authenticity. Visited when younger and didn’t have a problem but I’ve visited twice recently and felt uncomfortable. Money better spent in a small business…

It’s not compulsory to wear a face mask and the shopkeeper tried to tell me I can’t come in unless we bought one of his masks. No. Clearly you need the business and are exploiting old guidelines.

MY niece took me first to this beautiful little shop, very much up her street, this is her to a tea... I find these little shop's are popping up all over Liverpool in recent months, I love their individuality, quite unique, I can easily spend hours nosing around. Can't beat a refreshing change from the repetitiveness of a lot of shop's today, & always preferred in-store to online shopping. First chance I got I brought my daughter & other niece here. Smells amazing, & a huge lover of dream catchers, I could stay here all day.

Just purchased three items; prompt and efficient delivery, products are really fabulous, great value and worth every penny. Well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. So pleased to now be able to shop with you on line. Thank you Shared Earth.

I usually visit the Liverpool Store, however due to Covid I decided to order online. I placed my order yesterday and it arrived this morning! I can't fault the delivery or the products. I'm made up and that bit closer to being ready for Christmas. Thank you so much and can't wait to come visit you in Liverpool again.

This is one of my favourite shops on Bold Street. I love the smell as much as I love what they sell.

Here you will find a whole lot of handmade products from foreign countries. And they are all fairly inexpensive even though they are handmade, and despite the fact that it's all "fair trade."

You'll find recycled notebooks, carved wood animals, painted jewellery boxes, embroidered coin purses, incense, candles, massage oils, necklaces, shoulder bags, dresses, and so much more.

I almost can't resist popping in here every time I'm on Bold Street. It's so colourful

You can tell what type of shop this is by the smell. Woody and earthy, it's like they've pumped the garden centre of B&Q into the air vents to make the place seem like the untamed jungle it so wants to be.

Although the cynical 104% of my being wants to sneer at this shop's claim to be ecologically ethical, the other 19% (what I consider to be the more rational three-quarters) just felt guilty looking at everything. Browsing the book spines I was confronted with words like 'recycle' and 'carbon footprint', reminding me that one day my surviving descendants

Bold Street is a hive of hippy-dippy boutiques and this is both the hippiest and the dippiest of these establishments. Stocking a range of ethical bits and pieces from around the globe it is the perfect place for picking up a distinctive and different gift for your loved ones (particularly if your mum also happens to be as similarly impressed with terracotta fish tiles or wooden beaded jewellry as mine is).

There are my usual quibbles about fairtrade seeming to just equal pointless nic-nacs rather than actual needful items (what is the point of being patronising about ethical shopping - I do enjoy

Shared Earth is a wonderful place full of quirky little necklaces and bracelets (30% off all of them at the moment!) and those money boxes that you're supposed to smash to get your cash out of (I could never do that, the decoration on them is too pretty!)

Our main aim was to find a jewellery box for my friend's birthday and we initially by-passed Shared Earth under the impression that it was a) over-priced and b) we couldn't be bothered walking back up Bold Street, however after an hour of fruitless searching, we decided to chance it and found countless jewellery boxes from colourful

Deep breaths. And relax. Clear your head of all thought. Let your hand take your wallet from your inside pocket, that's it, 20 should do it. Exhale you've done a good deed. On your way.

Ok, Ok, a little cynical but come on a shop's a shop and any talk of ethical living and saving the planet is pretty much just there angle so let's concentrate on what they do.

Well there's certainly a lot of natural materials here - err I thought somehow this was an ethical shop so I do hope that these lovely, calm people behind the counter only found the necessary branches for

If your budget can't stretch to the stunning designs at the Display Centre, Shared Earth sells cute hand-made jewellery, accessories and home furnishings that are easier on the wallet.

A fair trade company with a loyal customer base, they specialise in distinctive, hand-made designs by artisan producers in India, Africa, Asia, South America and beyond. A lot of the products are made from recycled timber, plastic or tin and ranges from colourful cushions and picture frames to coffee tables. There's also a big jewellery and accessories section in this branch though I have to admit most

I actually really like coming into this store and just wandering away in my thoughts looking at the pretty things here, which sticking by its name do have a very earthy appeal to it.

They do a lot of hand-made designs in etch it into various things like accessories, jewellery, little note pads, stationary, jute bags and cute toys for children which can also be doubled up as show pieces. Topping up, they're all hand made and painted. I personally love the bangles and bracelets they have here, very artsy and beautiful.

Most of the products are made out of recycled material which gives you
