Old English Window
Matt and Tracey Freeman first set up Old English window company following their own experiences renovating a period property. From our formation in 2007 we set out to supply high quality tailored home improvements that enhance your property whilst adding real long-term value to your property, and giving great service along the way.

We use only the finest materials, responsibly procured, to give your new bespoke window or door, maximum durability. We help you carefully select all of your ironmongery from quality British manufacturers to give increased security whilst also enhancing the style of your new joinery.
Services
We specialise in the energy efficient restoration and replacement of heritage timber windows, and doors using a hybrid of services and budget. Every piece we create is of the highest quality, from design, manufacture through to installation. We are proud that most of our work comes through recommendations from our happy and enthusiastic customers.
Your property is gifted with stunning windows, which you love and cherish, and are a real architectural feature of your property, yet they are cold draughty, or painted shut and insecure so are a constant cause for concern. Fear no more as our bespoke restoration projects will vastly increase the thermal and noise reduction qualities of your windows whilst eliminating draughts and security issues whilst leaving your existing windows intact.
All too often existing sash windows are painted shut. They are unable to function, give little or no ventilation and yet are still cold and draughty during the winter months. The full restoration process starts with a full window appraisal, allowing us to establish the exact requirements of the restoration, identifying existing period features to be retained and establishing the full function of the window.
Existing period doors are often warped and poorly fitted causing a cold and draughty entrance to your property, as well as having security issues such as easily broken glass. Upgrading existing door furniture can also refresh the appearance of your door cost-effectively and improve security using modern locks.
If you are planning to make changes or carry out repairs to a historic building, then understanding the significance and impact of the proposals is key to good conservation practice.

Through our in-house design service, we are available to supply drawings, photographs and written information showing the existing character of the historic building, demonstrating the likely impact of any window or door replacements, its significance and the measures that have been taken to avoid or minimise damage.
