The Derby Brewery Arms is a large, open plan pub just a 10-minute walk from Manchester Victoria train station. On the corner next to the Joseph Holt Brewery, there's no doubt that you'll get a very well-kept, well-priced beer in a friendly pub atmosphere. The Griffin is a splendid Victorian pub with a host of heritage features including a magnificent mahogany bar, sash serving windows and marble fireplaces.
This five-room pub has an open plan area as well as smaller, quieter rooms with fixed seating. To the back is a great sun-trap of a beer garden. Located on Manchester Road Swinton, the Morning Star is a community favourite pub and food venue. The red brick pub dates back to 1890, but inside there's a fresh, modern feel while retaining plenty of character and charm.

Services
We currently supply a large variety of customers nationwide, from the local pub to city bars and high-end restaurants, and everything in between. As a traditional family brewer, with 170 years brewing history, we bring our values, experience and knowledge together, to provide a highly personal service, ensuring we deliver the right package to achieve the very best results.
The second youngest child of a weaver, Joseph Holt is born in Unsworth, a village north of Manchester. After moving into small house in central Manchester, Joseph starts his brewing career at a premises in Oak St, now in the Northern Quarter. In the first major expansion, the Holt's take over Ducie Bridge Brewery on York St, now Cheetham Hill Rd, brewing ales and porters.
Our Brewery, at the bottom of Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester has been home to Joseph Holt since 1860. Over the years, it has evolved and grown to become the modern Brewery it is today, although still surrounded by some of the original buildings. Still being housed at the original Brewery means we never lose sight of what's important.
The idea of the Manchester worker bee as a symbol of the city dates back to the Industrial Revolution - factories were often referred to as beehives because workers were so industrious. In 1842 the bee was first officially incorporated into the Manchester coat of arms. Almost 180 years later and we've created this glass to turn our golden beer into the immortal bee to pay tribute to our proud roots in the city.
Every year, our customers, brewery, pub staff and free trade team proudly get behind our chosen charity appeal, with the aim of raising funds for local communities in the North West. You probably don't need reminding that 2020 was a particularly tough year for many people. As a proud community member, Joseph Holt wanted to reflect this in our 2021 charity appeal and as such have chosen to support food banks and food clubs across the region.

Ordered some wine online on 3rd December (Xmas pressies) from the Brewery....now 26th December and no sign of their arrival despite an email on the 14th from the Company stating that they had been dispatched......very disappointing.....even in these trying times.
UPDATE.....sent another email to the Brewery on 29/12/21 as the wine had not arrived suggesting a refund would be easier. Return email on 31st stated that monies had been refunded, without further explanation.
Don't know what I did to deserve such appalling customer service but I would not recommend nor will I be using them again.

Afternoon. I was having a drink in this lovely Pub . But can you tell me why Joseph Holt Brewery are not helping with keeping the pub up to a good standard. . Urinal covered over with black bag - One of the Taps not working - Graffiti on the walls - hand dryer not working hand towel in its place . - and the toilet roll holder needs replacing- And we see food on the black board above the bar yet when we asked about food, we was told they are not serving food . I can live with that because of Covld 19 . But the rest of the fixtures and fittings, can a member of your management team not go down and

On Tuesday 19-10-21 having three managers visit me from the Midlands, I decided to take them for a meal and a drink at my local pub The Griffin Heald Green. We entered the lounge at 13-00 to be told there was no food being served only pizza’s. We ordered our choices which were not great and our beers. All the food advertisements on placards and also inside the hostelry were a sham and I was totally embarrassed. The manager was inept didn’t come over and apologise. Why was there no food?

Went to the Railway pub in Buxton 11 July 21, nice pub, generally pleasant staff (except 1 member) the man..manager showing customers to their seats was not wearing a mask and was well within 1 meter of me, no problem I was wearing a Mask...however when he came to the table..not wearing a mask and I was seated and as per recommendations was not wearing a mask I challenged him about it....he said he was "excempt" but I felt threatened...surely breweries should not be allowing staff exempt or not to be any where near their customers if they are not wearing a mask. These non mask wearing people can

As a well travelled, ex pat Mancunian I can categorically state that Joseph Holts brew the best bitter in the country. A trip to the Halfway House in Droylsden is considered essential every time I return home to visit my family. Fabulous, well kept quality beer served by Tom and his staff in a friendly atmosphere. Trust me, at this price it really can't be beaten!
Keep up the good work and let's hope that we can return to normality as soon as possible.
Mancunians, you don't know how lucky you are!

Do you actually read the trip advisor reviews on your pubs. Our local The Horse and Jockey has changed from a really good destination to a rubbish place. Staff are forever changing, food service is abismal. Stop serving before time stated, never have large wine glasses. The landlady has 2 pubs so we tried the other The Spread Eagle for Sunday lunch and they had run out by 3.00pm. Absolutely ridiculous.Been going in the Jockey for 50 years,, so sad to see a good pub go down like that.
