Services
The pair of counsellors provides a balance of similarity and difference. Similarity of overall working philosophy therapeutic approach is maintained. Difference may relate to gender, cultural background and professional experience. The therapists openly share their views with clients and sometimes have brief discussions during sessions that clients are invited to comment on.
Preliminary telephone call to establish whether the co-counselling process fits with what the clients aim to achieve. A series of sessions, typically inn the range of eight to twelve, although this varies according to specific circumstances. Sometimes one therapist interviews one of the clients while the other sits and listens in order to give feedback from this observer perspective.
One session is 50 minutes, but this can be extended to one and a half sessions (75 minutes) or two sessions (100 minutes), subject to availability. There is none beyond the current session. We do, however, consider that it is often useful for clients to agree to an initial series of six sessions to enable the development of a therapeutic plan.
