We're very lucky at the Plough Inn to have an enviable spot right by the village pond & green in the beautiful seaside village of Rottingdean. The pub dates back to the 1840s, and some of the original flint walls are still intact from that time. The impressive brick building is home to a popular and vibrant village pub with a great reputation for both food and drink.
Step inside and you'll find not only a cosy traditional pub, complete with oak beams and wood panelling, but also a warm welcome and friendly service. We are child and dog friendly too! Our function room upstairs is a popular choice for events up to 50 people and has a private bar and facilities. The room is tastefully decorated and perfect for any celebration from a children's party to a christening to a business meeting.

We had a meal there and the main meal was very good however the dessert was not so good as the Menu was miss leading the artisan cheese did not say how many and the crumble did not come with two scoops of ice cream as expected the staff were helpful and as a result we were given a discount which was appreciated the whole experience was good but perhaps the menu should be clearer

Had no reservation but found a table that did not have a reservation notice. Sat down, ordered menus, pleasant young lady took our drink and meal orders and settled down to receive our grub. 5 mins later was greeted by a gentleman stating "you havn't reserved, we have no food left, and this table is reserved. Wow didn't seem at all sorry, can't say we would go back again. It was one table that didn't have a reserved notice on it! Shame as just moved into the area and we would have been good customers! Went to the White horse which was top notch and much cheaper anyhows!

Totally hated the miserable tart who served us over the May Bank Holiday. As you can see from my photos the place had several tables free however the said miserable tart kept telling us the tables were reserved. We would of gladly moved once the people had turned up I’m sure the food is great here but staff really make the fun and enjoyment. Will not be suggesting or recommending this to any one
