A residential care home should be a community you can fall in love with - somewhere that cares for your physical, emotional, and intellectual wellbeing. At Cedar House, you can be the person you want to be: discussing the day's news with friends, trying your hand at new activities, or relaxing in a quiet corner with a book and your own thoughts.
You come and go as you please because the doors are always open. But if you really want to know about life at Cedar House care home in Rothley, please call to make an appointment to come and visit. It's nice to live here because of all the nice people. Everybody is friendly, including the staff, the food is very nice; one of the best places I've been to.

Services
When you make the move from life on your own to live in a residential care home, you have a right to expect better care and greater happiness. Residential care for the elderly is not about marking time. It's an opportunity to spread your wings - to make new friends and try new activities. That's how it is at Cedar House care home, Rothley.
We have a full-time activities coordinator who maintains a varied programme that fills all seven days of the week. If you prefer your own company, there's no pressure to join in. There's always at least one quiet room for tea and a chat or your own thoughts, and plenty of benches in the garden. In your own room, you can always shut the door on the world for complete peace and solitude.
At Cedar House care home, we lead active, fun-filled lives. There's something to do every day of the week, and in the evenings too. There are opportunities to laugh, sing, and dance together, to use our hands, to cook, to communicate via the internet, to play instruments, to discuss our favourite books, and to keep ourselves independent.
Our care home is a community in its own right, but it is also part of a larger community locally and internationally. We have a local Brownies, pre-school (Sidney Shakers), nursery group (Lilliput Nursery), several schools and outdoor learning centres visiting our home. The young people are taking part and running activities with the residents as well as sharing what they are learning with the residents, family and friends.
Yes, you can. We understand that moving to a care home can be quite a challenge for some people. We want you to be happy here so we're more than happy to let you try it for a short time to see how you get on. The majority of residents who give Cedar House a try, choose to stay on. We have a residents' meeting once a month when everyone has a chance to air their views.
