The Pierhead Tavern
The Pierhead Tavern, or PHT as it is more commonly known, is a welcoming, family-friendly bar and restaurant in Lamlash, Isle of Arran. The Pierhead Tavern is a traditional warm, welcoming, family-run business in Lamlash, Isle of Arran. Seating up to 80 customers inside and has a roof terrace, with stunning views of Lamlash Bay & Holy Isle.

Welcoming all visitors including families and larger groups. The PHT can cater for bespoke parties and weddings, which can be complemented with gin and whisky tasting packages plus live music. Offering home-cooked, delicious meals to suit all tastes. A varied menu of pub classics including vegetarian and vegan options.
Services
We love non-alcoholic drinks and have AF beers, wines and spirits such as Seedlip, & Three Spirits, plus we stock the full range of Left Field Kombucha. Other soft drinks include the tasty Nix and Kix drink made with natural botanicals. So good we went twice. I try to go to different places to eat when I visit somewhere new - but we couldn't not return.
We offer tasty food at The PHT which is prepared and cooked in our own kitchen. The menu includes traditional favourites such as Beer-Battered Fish & Chips, Steak Pie and Steaks, it is complemented by changing dishes and specials with seasonal local produce including seafood. We have a selection of vegetarian & vegan options and cater for gluten or wheat-free diners (please make your requirements known to our servers).
We stock a wide range to suit all tastes. Our range of REAL ALES has enabled us to be listed with CAMRA. We have a rotating selection of up to three hand-pulled cask ales on tap. Usually, these will be from Scottish Craft Breweries such as Fyne Ales, Skye Brewery, Ayr Brewery, Loch Lomond Ales, Williams Bros. Brewing Co., Jaw Brew, and The Kelburn Brewing Co.
Thank you for considering dining at The Pierhead Tavern. Due to the possibility of inclement weather, we only take bookings inside however once you are booked you are more than welcome to eat outside if there is availability. We have parasols/canopy on some tables, but these can only be used in light winds.
We are able to accommodate parties, weddings, meetings and interest groups of up to 150 people at The PHT. We are able to show films & put on performances too. We would be delighted to cater for your function no matter what the occasion and can cater away from the premises too. Gin tastings are quite the thing and with our in-house experts on hand, we can arrange personalised tastings for your event.

Had a really nice lunch here. Good pub with couple of nice ales on tap. Service was friendly and welcoming. Relaxed place with no airs and graces and it's dog friendly! We really enjoyed our food and would happily return next time we visit the island.

Average pub. Drink OK and staff are nice. Wouldn't give us a table as it was booked from 5pm (we arrived 4:30) Would have been easy to give us a seat and we could have left at 5pm.

Booked the PHT for a Sunday evening, and was delighted it was dog friendly. In the end we decided to go with the Sunday roast beef. Both my wife and I were not disappointed... it was so tasty, and just the right amount. The beef was excellent, cooked really well, and along with the vegetables and gravy was perfect.
In fact it was so good we booked to go back later in the week.
Staff were helpful and friendly and were attentive when they needed to be.

We love this place. The Sunday roast was delicious. We sat with our friends who were playing in their band “Hingin’ by a Threed”. They are fantastic musicians, it was pretty emotional, as it was our first live gig since lockdown.
Beautiful view of the sea too ❤️

We stopped by here for a quick lunch and were blown away by the quality of the food here. We sat on the rooftop terrace which had stunning views of the coast and over to Holy Isle, with a peaceful garden on the other side to admire. Service was friendly and quick. Lots of vegan options which really pleased us - the vegan haggis bonbons were delicious! We will definitely come back on our next trip to Arran.

The view was lovely from the top decking we went on a cloudy day so would imagine it to be better in the sun, we didn't get that much interaction with the staff so cannot comment too much on that. As for the food as a vegetarian I had only a few options but i was ok with it as they were more simplified meals - I chose the lasagna as I wasn't sure what the veg meatballs were made from and that was too mysterious for me, I ate it all very quickly because I was hungry but was not filled up which is surprising with me as I am usually quite a small mouth, the top was very crispy which you can make of
