Services
We are an enthusiastic team of physiotherapists in Ash near Canterbury who have worked together for a number of years under the Clinic Director Louise Cousins who established the Ash Physiotherapy Clinic 27 years ago. Sue Kittle joined the practice in 1998 and Katharine Lane in 2007. Due to the expansion of the clinic, 2 further Physiotherapists were appointed; Ann Thavisin in 2012 and Tine-Marie Birnie in 2015.
Conventional acupuncture involves the use of single use, pre sterilised disposable needles which are placed in certain acupuncture points on the body. A number of needles may be used and treatment lasts 10 - 30 minutes. Acupuncture is used to treat pain and inflammation. It works by enhancing the body's own healing chemicals to aid in recovery from soft tissue trauma.
This a very effective way of treating pain and dysfunction caused by muscle and nerve problems. This includes the use of very thin needles without any medication (a dry needle) to achieve its aim. It differs from acupuncture which is part of traditional Chinese medicine, whereas Dry Needling is a western medicine technique, which needs to have a medical diagnosis.
If you need to know more about our clinic and the way we work with our patients before contacting us then below is where we answer the most frequently asked questions. Headaches and migraines can be effectively treated. We are also able to treat painful joints such as hips, arthritic knees and feet, and soft tissues injuries: Achilles tendonosis, knee and ankle sprains.
Testimonials are precious to us. There is no better feedback which can help us continuously improve our services. We hope you find them a useful insight in how we run our practice but mostly in how we help our patients getting better every day. I understand that my recovery will take some time. The support offered by the clinic has helped tremendously in that it allows me to monitor my progress and work towards full mobility.
