The Otterburn Mill Pram Rug has a truly royal heritage. In 1926, following the birth of Princess Elizabeth (our current monarch), royal patronage for Otterburn Mill was extended as Buckingham Palace requested a custom-made Pram Rug for the royal pram. Today this heritage is woven into every baby blanket produced.
Barbour, founded in South Shields which is just 40 miles from Otterburn Mill, create classic country clothing. Famous for their waxed coats, their pieces are built to last and are both practical and stylish. Barbour coats have been a favourite of the royal family throughout the years and can add a touch of luxury and class to any wardrobe.

If you were driving round and about the area, it's definitely worth dropping in here.
There is a large shop of outside clothing brands but not as cheap as perhaps you would expect for an outlet shop.
The Café is just okay. A bit tired in decor and food is okay, I would describe it as like a school dinner, but I certainly wouldn't recommend going there for a special occasion or a drive out.

Found shopping here an enjoyable experience. Easy Parking. Good sized shop with large choice of family clothing and wellies! Some really good bargains and Dad Mum and Kids and Grandchildren all got something. Café has lovely home made meals, or just a few chips and coffee or juice if that is all you require and good toilets. Can take a picnic and eat outside as there are benches and tables on the grass for open air eating if you have a dog etc. Nice Area.

This is a good place to visit if you’re in the area and you love outdoor/ walking gear at outlet prices.
The cafe attached to the shop has interesting historical articles in the foyer that are related to the mill. Tenter rails are around the back which are well worth a view (where the term ‘on tenterhooks ‘ originates from).

This is a great place to shop for outdoor clothes, they have regatta, joules, crag hoppers as well as lovely sheepskin rugs a range of northumberland foods and books and toys
They frequently have sales on and I have never bought anything there full price
The history of the mill higlighted around the place is interesting and the cafe is worh a visit
They also have a little shop selling fruit and veg in a side shed but they only take cash at that shop
Best for leather goods and rugs wouldnt buy the little packs of sweets
