Services
Stuart established this practice in 2010 having formerly traded in Duke Street Glasgow as Specdeals to 2001. Neil, Angela, Carol and Optometrist Sabrina work at our Duke Street branch. Managed by Stuart's brother, Neil who also provides a bespoke glazing service on the premises. Neil has worked alongside Stuart for over twenty years and has a fantastic knowledge of different types of spectacles lenses.
The staff includes Helen who has worked in the branch for five years in addition to her many years' experience working other optical practices. Our manager Kris completed his training in our Cambuslang practice and along with Helen they have successfully reinvigorated this practice in recent months providing a welcoming, well-organised service to all of our patients.
Most people have an Eye Examination every 1-2 years however on some occasions due to clinical requirements this frequency can alter. Our optometrists are registered with the General Optical Council and have been qualified for around 10 years. Eye Examinations take place most days at our practices or if required we also offer home Eye tests for patients unable to attend our practice due to medical reasons.
We provide eye tests in Scotland which are COMPLETELY FREE to everyone and glasses where required at AFFORDABLE PRICES. We realise that some people are not able to travel to their local opticians. That's where we come in, visiting you in your home providing professional and affordable eyecare.
Ophthalmoscopy - Your pupil is the window to your eye and by applying drops to dilate your pupil we use an Ophthalmoscope which is like a fancy torch to shine light into your eye to identify disease or even occasionally certain general health conditions like diabetes or hypertension.Retinoscopy - Once more by using a similar torch-like instrument called a Retinoscope, we can find a starting point for your prescription.
