At its most seaward point, a Palmerston Fort built in 1865 and re-armed in World War II, provides an insight into the past. A boat trip from Weston-Super-Mare (April - October) sails off to the middle of the Bristol Channel where Steepholm island lies, a haven for seabirds and other wildlife.

My mother stayed here on the 31st of July. The room was very dusty with stains on the duvet cover the whole shower was covered in dirt. The guests where really disrespectful during the night she had to leave at 6am due to a guest being irritaing at unholy hours the television was broken. No fresh breakfast there was two stale pieces of Weetabix in the bowl She payed £90 to stay in a hostel it says its a 4 star hotel when truth be told its more of a 1 star she should be refunded for the amount of false advertising she experienced during her stay.

Worst stay ever! pokey, dirty room with no fresh air as the window barely opens. Other guests were shouting and slamming doors all night. in the end we packed and drove 2 hours home in the middle of the night just so we could get some sleep. The worst experience I've ever had at a hotel.

1 star is far too generous for this place. It needs shutting down. The rooms are a health hazard. Dirty beds, dirty bathroom. I have bite marks which are probably bed bugs! You are better off sleeping rough!

Room wasn't very clean. The owners are friendly though and the breakfast is nice.
However, a B&B is primarily about the room so can't score higher because of its lack of cleanliness
