Bodmin Nursery is a family Business, owned since 2001 by Mark & Linda Lawlor. The 5 acre site of Laveddon (meaning 'Valley of the Birch trees') was originally a small-holding and water-mill, dating from the late 16th century. From its roots in the 1950's when it grew vegetables and flowers for the local area, the Business has developed over time and is now proud to be one of the biggest and best growing-nurseries in the south-west.
The team are all passionate plantspeople who love their plants and enjoy sharing their growing knowledge. Plants remain at the heart of the Business, with freshness, quality, range and know-how being our watch-words. The Mill Cafe, in the centre of the Nursery, was opened in 2013 in a former cow's house and is now a bustling meeting-point where food is prepared and cooked daily and only the best Italian coffee is served.

A range to take your breath away! Swathes of Perennials to lift your garden throughout the year, with many cultivars by genus. Summer sees a stunning display in the centre of the nursery, ranged by hue, a tempting smorgasbord of perennial colour! Where do we start? Our Summer stock beds are a joy to behold - for borders Hot, Cool, Cottagey, Minimalist or anything in between, we have a vast, vast choice.
In season we have a stunning range of basket plants: bacopa, petunia, verbena, nemesia, diascia to name but a few. These Mediterranean-feel favourites remain ever-popular. Sold in 1 litre pots there are seemingly endless shades of pink, red and orange - they will last through to the first frosts or can be over-wintered.
An extensive range of these all-time favourite herbs, such as Hidcote, Munstead and Old English. Our range encompasses all the favourites including Rosemary, Thyme, and Mints, with multiple cultivars by type. Not just one Parsley - we have English, French and Italian! Other favourites include French Tarragon, Chives, Marjoram and Wild Rocket.
We have some good suggestions for less-lit areas in your home - why not try Ficus, Asplenium, Aspedistra or Sanseveria? All good enough to light up any shadier corner! A challenging position for house-plant growing, as delicate leaves are easily scorched & the dry atmosphere can cause problems. Good range of Citrus plants also.

We visited for the first time on Saturday and had a lovely morning discovering new finds and old favourites at Bodmin Nursery. A fabulous selection of healthy plants, laid out in helpfully signed areas. The plants were competitively priced and good value for money. We left very contented after a much needed visit to the cafe for refreshments and a car full of newly purchased plants.

Visited the Bodmin Nursery this morning. had coffee and cakes in the Cafe and couldn't praise it highly enough. From the minute we were shown to an outside table, to the delivery of our food and the eventual bill, contactless of course, everything was perfect. a big thank you for lovely refreshments and very friendly staff.
