Our home provides accommodation, supervision from staff 24 hours a day, meals and help with personal care needs. We have registered nurses on duty at all times. This means we can provide care for people with more complex needs and those who need regular nursing interventions. The provision of nursing care offers the peace of mind that should this be required, there is no need to move on.
Residential care is for frail older people whose needs are low - people who do not require nursing care or specialist care for example, but who might need help with washing, dressing and other daily living activities. Our dedicated team of qualified nurses, care assistants and ancillary staff provides a high standard of care within a warm, friendly, comfortable environment.

A huge thank you to you and all your staff for looking after B so well for the 18 months she was in your care. You all were especially kind to mummy and her family during the last few weeks. I can't tell you how much it helped us to have mummy in your care at the end, and not in hospital. I consider this the best run residential/nursing home in the area.
Please make sure that you sign your name in the guest book at reception for Health and Safety reasons and use the hand sanitizer on arrival. However, if you would like to stay for lunch and eat with your relative then please let us know in advance. We have a separate area called the 'Linkins Lounge' where you can have a meal together in private and suggest at least 5.00 per head donation if you would like to order from the menu.
For many residents, our volunteers have provided important opportunities for socialisation, company and just 'someone to talk to', ranging from very basic 'sitting and being' with people to more substantial, long-term, one-to-one befriending relationships and support. Before becoming a volunteer at Donnington House it is important to be clear on why you are doing this and what role you will have in the organisation.
The Gold Standards Framework is an on-going initiative supported by the Department of Health's End of Life Care Programme, and is designed to enable and support staff in care homes, to implement and improve end of life care. In 2006/7 the Matron and her deputy were invited to attend the Gold Standard Framework training and undertook a programme of workshops with Care Homes in East and West Sussex.
