Our Restoration Yard home is in a gorgeous, re-imagined 18th century stables and courtyard in the heart of a thousand acre estate just 20 minutes from Edinburgh, at Dalkeith Country Park. Before its current reinvention, Restoration Yard was a thriving 18th century stableyard housing the horses and grooms of visiting royalty and dignitaries staying at Dalkeith Palace. Today Restoration Yard is a Retail Store, Online Store, Restaurant, Coffee Bar and tranquil Wellbeing Space, set around a beautiful Tuscan inspired courtyard.

We have been going to the restoration yard for years now for breakfasts and to enjoy their great shop. Recently we booked for our young boys to participate in the Christmas ornament decorating class. Unfortunately, we had to cancel due to isolating last minute. Within 30 minutes they had issued a refund, no questions asked. I have always thought the standard at Restoration Yard was high and this then confirms the great quality and personal touch which makes a local gem like this so worth having!

Situated in a large country park that people visit with their dogs. The store is not dog friendly but don't think it's nessecary let you know before you go in or to have a sign outside that says "no dogs" or "we hate dogs". Would recommend visiting the store if you fancy spending £3 to leave your dog in a hot car while you go in.

Great place to go with family / dogs. All very clean and well kept. Sadly I did find a couple of staff members recently in the larder (takeaway) to be a little unfriendly, maybe it was just a busy/bad day. I don't have a problem paying £3 for parking, but I know some people do, it might be nice for a portion of this to be redeemable on a coffee etc.

The restoration yard is open. We were so happy to find out that it was again open. This place is lovely, the food is take away style for now. I attached a photo of the menu. The buildings and the park are stunning. It’s a family friendly option we everything you need to spend a great afternoon. On the sunny day you can enjoy a nice walk, there are tables all around the restoration yard. The coffee taste great and in eco friendly vegware packaging 👌🌱. We will definitely come back again and again.

Hi we visited santa's grotto last night with 2 of our young people with Autism. Santa was absolutely amazing and so patient with the boys. when he heard one of the boys was non verbal he offered to do sign with him and asked what kind of things he liked. He went above and beyond to meet their individual needs. It was possibly the most magical moments I will have of one of the young boys as he has came such a long way and something we didn't think he would ever experience... thank you so much to Santa it almost made be believe again :)

Glad to be back! ❤ Excellent food and service as always, always a pleasure to visit.🌸 I would love to see more gluten and dairy free options so I can bring friends with food intolerances. I would also love to… have chocolate chip scones as they're rare to find. The only thing I would change is whole leaf food decoration instead of chopped up so they can be removed easily by fussy eaters like myself 😊⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We love this place. Lovely walks and so much to do for children. Shops always has lovely and different from your usual high street stuff to buy.
It a shame that service in the coffee shops is very slow with the very limited seating inside but we always just get out drinks and stacks to take away and enjoy the beautiful outdoor
