The decision to move into residential care is often a difficult and very emotional one, made due to deterioration in health or the loss of a supportive partner. We hope to minimise the stress of this transition by helping each individual to adjust to their new home, providing as much support as possible.
At St. George's, we believe that psychological stimulation is just as important as the physical care that we give and we strive to provide a wide and varied diary of events both inside and outside of the Home, to cater for as many interests as possible. Our Activities Coordinator Chloe Rust joins us every afternoon from Monday to Friday to spend time running and organising activities with the residents.
St. George's is registered with the CQC (Care Quality Commission) to provide Residential Care to anyone over 65 years of age. Apart from this age based criteria, there are no barriers to entry. However, we do assess each potential new resident in order to determine their ongoing plan of care. This assessment examines elements such as mobility, medical conditions, mental health and personal care.
