Situated in the beautiful village of Radcliffe on Trent, a stones throw from the red cliffs of the River Trent, the much-loved pub is set in a stunning location. David & Mark won the coveted industry title The BII License of The Year Award 2019. The Radcliffe is the second addition to the multi award winning The Railway, which was crowned best pub in the East Midlands 2018.
Among 9 other industry awards. The Radcliffe is first and foremost a village pub with the bar at the heart of it all. With wooden floors, sea grass carpets interesting quality features, comfy seating and a feeling of light and space. There is an open pass for all to see the skill that goes into preparing each dish.

The Radcliffe has always been in a league of its own compared to most places in the area. We were therefore very disappointed with the recent meal we had there. The Soup had not been seasoned at all the haddock chowder was dry. We both had Sea Bream which had either been very much over cooked or cooked and left on a warm plate it was very dry.
Really gone downhill. However the staff were friendly and efficient as always

The bar staff were friendly and so were the waiting staff. The waiting service was also very good. The problem for me was the food. So the duck parfait came in a small kiln jar which was fine but it was rather bland and the worst part about it was you only got 1 small slice of bread to eat all of the parfait which I thought was a bit ridiculous for £7. I then ordered a burger for the main course which was 15£. For that price the burger needs to be great because the only other thing on the plate is a small bowl of chips. The burger was dry so was dissapointed. I think the chefs need to actually

Its so easy to book this restaurant online and so simple. You get an email offering to cancel if required, so there is no excuse for a no show either !
Our arrival was well received by the Staff and an offer to have a drink at the bar, or taken to the table, was very much appreciated.
We were allowed to browse the extensive menu whilst having a lovely chilled glass of New Zealand wine.
I have to say the menu has something for everyone and is well thought out. The food is served hot and is cooked to perfection.
I had the Belly Pork, which was a huge portion and my husband had the steak. He said

The food is incredible. Highly recommend. The desserts for me are too big, I think smaller portioned desserts would be much more enjoyable. The service up until you have finished is great, but you seem to be forgotten about at this point and no one seems to want to give you the bill! Ladies toilets were well kept but the men's were not. Dead flies in the window, urinals didn't drain and hand towels thrown all over the floor... However for the starters and mains alone, a full five star review. Thank you

This is a great village pub, with large outside spaces, some covered too so you can be outside and stay dry in Covid-socialising. The food is always really impressive and I'm looking forwards to sitting inside again and watching the open kitchen. The starter and pudding were particularly delightful and made it worth booking in advance to get a table.

First visit last night and it impressed - fantastic happy staff who are just lovely. Buzzing atmosphere with plenty of people. Starter was just fantastic, maim was a little pricey and maybe including a side would help long term - although I get the food
Is at another level compared to most village venues. This is not just a “pub” but is very much verging on restaurant. The new interior is a mega improvement - with cozy split up spaces to sit replacing the previous open space. Only improvement could be some sound absorbing materials - it gets insanely loud.
