The first branch of Babla's was originally established in ZANZIBAR in 1895, making it over 100 years! To date, the business continues to operate serving the time keeping needs of locals and the many tourists; located on Main road, opposite old post office in Stone Town. Below is a photo taken in the 1960s. The second branch was opened in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania in 1968, under the name of Babla's House of Watches Ltd.

What refreshing honesty from a trader. I went there intending to service my automatic watch at this authorised dealer which would have cost a few hundred pounds. He took the watch for testing while I waited and said that it didn't really need a service as it was keeping good time. Such honesty should not go unnoticed and I would highly recommend this business. It's no surprise that while I was there another customer announced that she had come all the way from Surrey as she had been recommended.

One can always buy watches online from some anonymous company and then just throw them away when they break, but I hate needless waste and I'd wanted to buy something that would last and be repairable from a company that delivers personal service. Sure enough, after seven years of hard wear on the wrist of this busy photographer, my trusty Rotary bought from this family firm in Wembley needed some care. I asked for a refit and got a good quote. The repairs and glass replacement took a couple of weeks but the wait was worth it, as it looks and feels brand new. Dealing with the reliable and friendly

Very disappointed with the customer service received. Very rude and incompetent owner. I had my watch repaired and wasn't completely satisfied with the repairs even after the second time. I spoke to the owner who was very rude and wasn't even willing to have a look at the watch and the quality it came back to me. He raised his voice and was very rude and unprofessional in front of many customers. Totally embarrassing!!! Finally his son had a look at the watch and agreed that there was a slight variation in colour and I wasn't going completely crazy which is how I was made to feel
