At Highfields we are proud of the many things we do to help your child feel welcome, valued and encouraged as an individual. Our Nursery is open five days a week term time only and offers a full day from 7.30am until 6.00pm accepting children from the age of 2. Our Main school starts at Reception for children turning five and goes on to prepare children for common entrance or 11+ entry to senior school at 11.
Our aim is for every child to attain their potential, which we achieve with small class sizes, specialist teaching and dedicated learning support. We are located on the border of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, between Nottingham, Lincoln and Grantham.

Highfields Independent School and Day Nursery, also known as Newark Preparatory School, is a non-selective, co-educational, independent day school and nursery based in the historic Nottinghamshire town of Newark, for children aged from 2 to 11 years. Our Nursery is open 5 days a week (term time) and offers a full day from 7.30am until 6.00pm.
Highfields is an independent, co-educational, non-selective school and day nursery for children aged 2-11 years, based in the historic market town of Newark, Nottinghamshire. We are a family school with strong values and traditions which have served the school well in the past and will continue to serve future generations of Highfields children equally well in the future.
Highfields School was established at the close of the Second World War, at a time when primary and secondary education were being separated. Previously, primary education had been provided within Newark's Lilley & Stone High School site, but by 1945 that had been phased out and there was a need for a new primary school in the town.
Every year many of our pupils are offered scholarships to their chosen senior school in a range of disciplines including music, sport, art, academic and all rounder. We are very proud of all our leavers and celebrate their success with a special speech night and awards ceremony at the end of the year, when we invite a distinguished guest speaker to join us.

A wonderful school providing high quality education and fantastic opportunities for children to experience a diverse range of extra-curricular activities. Staff go the extra mile to help every child fulfil their potential and our two children have not looked back since they joined the school 5 years ago.

Highfields always provides a happy and nurturing environment where my son has thrived for 6 years. Exceptional teachers work to the strengths of each child and bring out the best in every pupil. The individual attention my son receives is second to none. Very lucky to have this school on our doorstep.

Highfields is an exemplary school! My grandaughter, who is now in Form 2, loves all of the extra curricular activities that are available for her to get involved in; she has a jam packed schedule and regularly attends judo, gymnastics and multi sport activities. I'm extremely happy with the regular feedback I get from her teachers regarding her progress and there isn't a single day that Skylah says she's been unhappy whilst at school. There is a great family focus at the school and all of the parents regularly participate in after school social events. I couldn't be happier with everyone who makes
