Blackbrook House
When people come to Blackbrook House, they become part of a big family house and receive individual care of the highest quality. It's the start of a new and happy chapter in their life with no need to worry about security, and where maintaining independence and individual lifestyle choices is a priority.

Blackbrook House is a beautiful place to live and, despite its grandeur, may be more affordable than you'd first expect. Our residents come from all walks of life, so there's every reason to think that that could include you too. Blackbrook House has been created by Steve Press - a real people person with a strong history in care.
Services
Originally there was a little pavilion at each end of the house in 1806, before the 'hideous, but necessary' premises were added on in 1890. I imagine we were all born in my mother's room. We children lived on the top floor which had the nursery, five bedrooms and a box room. There was no bathroom or loo and probably no hot water.
Set in 3 acres of landscaped gardens, Blackbrook House is a Grade II listed Georgian House. We have 26 fabulous bedrooms individually decorated in a country living style with the highest quality furniture, and with furnishings from Laura Ashley and Sanderson to name just two. We have a number of original watercolour paintings hanging in most rooms that invoke memories of local areas such as Porchester, Titchfield and Botley.
We have a large comfortable lounge with French windows looking out to the gardens and patio, leading to a terrace to enjoy the morning sun. The lounge has a TV with loop system for hearing aids, beautiful mirror, cosy chairs, sofa and large fireplace. This room leads through to a wooden floored dining area which can also be used as our homemade cinema with a large screen for residents to enjoy movies or view DVDs and photos of family holidays.
At Blackbrook House we have created 26 individually designed, decorated and furnished bedrooms all with ensuite facilities and call bells. We have used the highest quality furniture, the best fabrics and prints from Laura Ashely and Sanderson and hand-picked finishing touches to create comfortable and relaxing bedrooms with style.
Opened in 2021, Blackbrook House's Orangery Wing stands on the site of the original home's orangery. We're extremely pleased with the results, where the architect's vision is coupled with beautiful fittings and furnishings from the likes of Voyage Maison. The extension is full of sunlight, and offers unique views across the grounds, as well as our new water feature.

I wouldn't put a dog in there.
Dont be fooled by its lavish Exterior......
I am a former member of staff who was SACKED for whistle blowing on another member of staff that often slept whilst on duty.
The manager Julie was given photographic proof and subsequently i was dismissed to cover up their failings.
THE OWNER STEVEN PRESS payed staff off to say nothing......
A fellow college resigned as i was terminated.
Needless to say not where you want to send grandma.

I was born at Blackbrook House, it was a maternity home back then and l visited it back in 2010 to see my birthplace for myself.
I was blown away by the peaceful views with birdsong and being tucked away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Blackbrook Hse is a beautiful building that wasn't in use in 2010 yet all its history was still there.
l recall wondering if it would ever be brought back to life either as a private home, nursing home or as a hotel for the quiet retreat, so to find out that it is now a residential care home is truly marvellous and l wish everyone a happy enjoyable
