Polean Farm
We are now open as is the swimming pool, outdoor playground an indoor playroom. We are also offering animal feeds tractor rides and pony rides (but with adjustments to allow social distancing). Polean farm is located in Cornwall, down green lanes off the Looe to Polperro road, just outside the village of Pelynt.

The farm is set amongst rolling farmland and is less than 2 miles from the sea. On the farm we offer free animal feeding and pony and tractor rides (on weekdays only). The 18th century former barns have been converted into spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated child friendly and toddler friendly Cornish farm cottages set around a pretty courtyard.
Services
All of the cottages are full of character as they have been converted from the original farm buildings which date back to the 18th century. We upgraded all cottages with leather furniture, flat screen TV's and new rugs and bedding and continue to make improvements every year. Our aim is to make each cottage a cosy home from home for you and your family.
Detached Barn with Three Bedrooms, Three Bathrooms. Named after the owls that still live in the nesting boxes around the building, and that can sometimes be heard at night, Little Owls is a modern barn conversion. It is set in its own private lawned garden where a decked patio with garden furniture offers glorious views across the farm and towards the village of Pelynt (the garden is fenced, so there are no sharp drops for toddlers).
Rosebud is a pleasant, beamed cottage with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and lovely countryside views. The cottage was named after Rosebud the cow, who had all of her calves in one of the downstairs rooms (before it was converted from a barn to a cottage!), while the upstairs was used to store hay in the winter.
Three bedrooms, Two Bathrooms. Shires Rest is a pretty 'upside down', beamed cottage with plenty of character and great views across the farm and surrounding countryside. The cottage was named after the Shire Horses that used to live in the downstairs rooms (before it was converted from a barn to a cottage!), while the upstairs was used to store hay in the winter.
Waggoners is a delightful single level, open plan cottage, with its own private patio and garden to the rear and views of the front fields and the children's play area at the rear. The cottage was named after the wagons that used to be stored in it when it was an open sided barn and you can still see many of the original features of the barn, like the exposed stone walls.

This was the most beautiful and picturesque cottage I have ever stayed in. My son treated me to a 3 night stay for my 50th birthday and it was just perfect. Due to current restrictions, the kitchen implements were reduced but still adequate. The farm is located in a wonderful setting and not too far away from a town with a supermarket for supplies. The neighbouring residents were all so friendly and also seemed very happy with the accommodation and the views. A definite 5* rating from me!

This was by far the best place we've self catered at, we loved everything about the cottage and farm, especially feeding the animals every morning.
Keith and Lisa were super hosts and you won't get bored with Keith's farming tales.
We'll definitely be back

In these strange times we'd already had one holiday cancelled earlier in the year due to lockdown, so it was lovely to get away from it all when restrictions eased and spend a week in Cornwall and stay at Polean Farm.
The cottages are as clean and sanitised as you could realistically expect - changes have been made to keep people as safe as possible, and there are lots of nice touches such as the welcome hamper with cream teas and apple drink.
The owners obviously love entertaining and there is loads for kids to do, whether it's helping look after the guinea pigs, chickens and goats or rising

We have just got back from our stay at Polean Farm - we loved it. Our little boy of 20 months loved his stay and playing on the farm at the play area and feeding the animals in the mornings. Lovely hosts and beautiful views. Will come back again!

We've been going to Polean for several years now and it's always a fantastic time. We've stayed in all the cottages and have always found them to be clean, comfortable and well equipped. Feeding the animals, barrel and pony rides are always looked forward to. would always recommend to anyone with kids.
