Louis was responsive and professional throughout the process. Even with IPF guidance, you still have to do most of the documentation yourself and an awful lot is required for a French mortgage. The main advantage you have from IPF is access to and knowledge of the French mortgage market which is still quite traditional compared to say the UK. Nevertheless in our case we ended up with one of the obvious leaders which I could probably have managed myself. Anyway, the extra cost wasn’t significant and it was reassuring to have someone else knowledgeable along for the ride. Thank you Louis.

We submitted our information to Louis at IPF but decided to apply directly. Without our permission he contacted the French bank directly and discussed our application with an underwriter. Their conduct was not only unprofessional but, in our mind, a breach of GDPR. We believe that their conduct adversely affected our application. They have refused to detail who they spoke to at the bank despite promising to.
