Services
When you bring your pet to Eden Vets you get the time and attention you and your pet deserve. Every consultation lasts a minimum of 15 minutes, ensuring there's time to talk through all aspects of your pet's lifestyle and habits as well as thoroughly investigating any health problems. The key to a successful consultation is a relaxed atmosphere so we don't rush your pet out of their basket and onto the table.
Eden Vets was born in the wake of the Foot and Mouth outbreak in 2001. Charlie Foster, runs the large animal practice at Border Vets in Longtown but knew that sadly it would take time for many farmers to build up their livestock again. So Charlie used the time to establish our small animal vets, finding our premises on Kingstown Road and converting them into the homely and welcoming practice we use today.
You can contact the on-call Vet by calling the Practice number 01228 541999, which will be re-directed during the Out-of-Hours times. Discovering your pet is dangerously ill or has had a serious accident in the middle of the night is a nightmare for all owners. Eden Vets is here for you. If you need emergency out-of-hours treatment for your pet, call us before you set-out.
To be the first point of contact for clients and the general public both on the telephone and in person. Demonstrating a professional and knowledgeable impression to promote the Practice and give confidence to our clients. Additionally, administration hours and flexibility to assist with Team cover and liaison with colleagues.
Border Vets has become an integral part of the farming community for over a decade, providing a comprehensive and dedicated service for farmers, smallholders and horse owners across Cumbria and the Scottish borders. Our dogs have been looked after by Eden for the past 15 years and the service has always been excellent. Staff seem to really care about both the welfare of the animals, and the owners, providing good advice and support, particularly when dealing with difficult decisions. The team also seem to always have time for you, whether it is just collecting annual treatments, during check ups or when things get difficult (an inevitable part of owning pets). Staff are knowledgeable and their advice is easily understood. We have never felt pressured when considering what steps to take with our pets, including

Thought our previous vets in Kendal were good, but this surgery is fantastic we have a 15 yr old Patterdale border cross and a 15 month old Patterdale Lakeland cross and I completely trust this practice. Fantastic staff always friendly and professional. I certainly would not go anywhere else with my dogs. Cannot recommend enough. Thank you.
