After qualifying with a Sports Science degree, I went on to complete a Level 4 Sports Massage diploma, accredited by the Sports Massage Association (SMA). Since 2008 I have been working with a wide range of clients - some with no sporting background but with muscular tension from their job, some keen sportspeople looking for a way to speed recovery and boost performance.
This is the science of how the human body moves in mechanical terms. As Biomechanics Trainers, the 'elements' team are able to apply screening protocols and corrective exercises to identify and relieve muscle spasm. An initial consultation includes an in-depth review of your current and previous diet and food related problems plus your weight and medical history.
This is an integral part of injury prevention and recovery. It can help and prevent those niggling injuries that so often get in the way of performance and achievement, whether a person is a dedicated athlete, casual jogger or just has an active lifestyle. Sports massage has shown to reduce pain, release tension and pressure, increase range of movement and restore mobility.
Intrinsic Biomechanics, is the study of how the body is able to perform tasks or movements in relation to the individual's mechanical make-up. By screening your body we are able to establish any areas of mechanical weakness and then prescribe a program to help eradicate the problems identified. This can be helpful for everyday tasks, prevention of injury and to enhance sports performance.
Our pregnancy massage therapists are specially trained by industry leading expert, Jenny Burrell. Treatment is safe and effective and the patient's comfort is of utmost importance. During pregnancy, massage is particularly beneficial as the body is being put under particular strain. Massage will not only help you relax but could also help joint pain, neck and back pain, headaches, cramping and sciatica.
