The Strawberry Field Tavern is located in the Locks Heath retail shopping centre between Southampton and Fareham and close to attractions such as Titchfield Abbey, the coastal area of Hamble (and not far from the beautiful boating waterfront of Warsash). Formally the Lock Stock and Barrel, the name now reflects the original purpose of the land it stands on.
Strawberries picked here were once transported by horse and cart and loaded onto trains at Swanwick station bound for London. The pub was built in the mid 1080's as part of the Locks Heath Centre development, bringing the community together with local shops including a chemist, butchers, travel agents, hardware shop, Post Office, library, community centre and most recently a Costa Coffee and Waitrose supermarket.

Service was amazing and the staff where lovely, food is overpriced but as we found out you get the cheapest meal free so it was not to bad,I ordered gammon egg and chips which was £18 and i throughly enjoyed it and my husband had chicken burger with chips he had to pay and extra £3 for one slice of bacon which was fatty, the burger looked like it was off the kids meal the chicken breast inside the burger looked like a frozen breast from Iceland and really wasn't that big, here is a picture to show how small his burger actually was,

Popped in for a coffee whilst the car was being washed and valetted. As it was mid afternoon it was quiet, which suited me.
The place was clean and the staff were hospitable and friendly. Sadly, I've dropped a star as the price for the coffee I felt was a little high for a straightforward basic coffee.
Overall, a pleasant way to spend an hour.
