The Dancing Man Brewery
No longer compulsory but we ask that you consider the safety of our staff who are waiting for their vaccines. Feel free to move around our beautiful building - please be considerate and keep your wits about you. Please use hand sanitiser. We are continuing to leave as much space between tables as we can to keep you safe and comfortable.

We all know what part we must play to keep us all safe. If you have lost or misplaced yours or just forgotten how to be nice, we will ask you to leave. The main bar is open every day from 12-11pm during the week and to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.
Services
The diversity, equality, tradition and that manners take president over judgement, class, conformity and staid ideas. Brewing ceased at the pub in 2014 as we prepared to move into our new home, the Wool House. We have issued this little statement as a recent Echo interview has caused some confusion.
We also do weddings, wakes, christenings, baby showers, mad hatter tea parties, corporate, networking, training days, breakfast meetings, wedding fairs, vintage fairs, birthday parties, anniversaries and many other events. And you wonder why we look so tired! We believe you won't find a more affordable, historic and unique venue to host your company event.
We have been voted BEST PUB IN SOUTHAMPTON for the last 4 years and received BEST DESIGN IN THE SOUTH back in 2016 for what we did with an unloved and empty building. Check out the before and after photos in our photo gallery. Our restaurant was voted Best Restaurant in Southampton back in 2018 - this accolade came from Time Out Magazine.
Hello, We just wanted to share this amazing painting that we had sent to us by local artist Lindsi Bluemel. It's fantastic when we receive photos and pictures of our beautiful brewery and would love to see any artwork from our visitors. If you have anything that you would like to share with us, please.
We are guessing someone may have either popped the question or you are hoping they are going to? We can cater for your wedding day. As you are mooching around our wedding section we are guessing someone may have either popped the question or you are hoping they are going to? Westgate Hall is a beautiful barn-like building with exposed beams, hidden within the old walls of the city.

We attended a wedding reception at Dancing Man Brewery recently and it was a great location for the celebration. The staff were all really friendly and attentive and they have a great selection of beers to choose from. The atmosphere for the wedding party was really relaxed and the food was very enjoyable. They catered really well for gluten free (coeliac) and the chef and owner was very reassuring regarding the gluten free food. There is also a little Jack Russell dog who greets you - he definitely made my day! Would definitely recommend visiting here.

This is an incredibly interesting establishment. Very popular with the trendy set and comes into its own when the weather behaves and the extensive outdoor seating can be utilised.
History is wrote deep in this building. Southampton's only Grade I listed building. Once a Wool House, it was originally built by Cistercian Monks following the 1338 French raid on Southampton. It is the only surviving free standing medieval warehouse in the city.
During the Napoleonic Wars it was used to house French prisoners, some of their names are carved into the roof beams. The 20th century saw it used by boat

Never set your foot here people !
I went there to wait for 1 hour for my order to be taken , I got so annoyed as the waitress passed by and said I have to serve other people first and then she can take my order ,
1 hour later I didn't manage to order anything and when she had the nerves to come and ask me what would I like to order I just refused to order as this is unacceptable!
How can you expect someone to wait for you to take his order for 1 hour , do you think that bringing some fake bread roles wich taste worst than the ones in aldi will make your customers happy?

The food was delicious, well presented, and service was awesome.
Unfortunately, they tried to charge us double the price - over half my colleagues were unable to come due to covid or isolating... the restaurant did know in advance. Thanks to my assertive colleagues and the kind person in charge - all was sorted by the end.
I will return đź‘Ť.

Great selection of on site brewed beers and (if you really must San Miguel). Situated in a beautiful 700 year Old Building it is very atmospheric. With friendly staff it's defiantly worth a visit.

Friendly staff. Was offered a taste of 3 cask beers on arrival. All were good and we had several pints of them subsequently. Interesting building too! Will definitely return.

This is without doubt one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever had a pint within. Super friendly staff, great beers (obvs), and an amazing setting. Highly recommended.
