We, the staff, governors and children, welcome you to the Rowley Lane J I & N School website. On this website you will find important information about the school as well as an insight into some of the learning activities we engage in. If you are considering sending your child to Rowley Lane, we encourage you to visit our school and see us at work.
This will give you an opportunity to meet and talk with the Headteacher, Miss Jenny Shore or another Senior Leader, and see the staff and children at work. At Rowley Lane, our school aim is for every child to achieve their full potential - to be the best they can be. We aim to provide an environment where all children can achieve this through enjoyable, high quality teaching and learning.

Services
Teaching assistants might support across different year groups and phases for certain activities but are based primarily in one phase. Most support staff work part time but we try to make sure that there is someone based in a particular year group at all times. Some work with a range of children in the classroom and also run intervention groups.
Co-opted Governors, selected by the Governing Body. It is important that there are always Governors who are independent of the school on our Governing Body as well as some that have connections to our school. Our Governing Body is made up of people who bring a range of skills. We regularly audit these skills so that we can make appropriate appointments to the Governing Body when a seat becomes available.
Safeguarding is of paramount importance to us at Rowley Lane. All staff have regular safeguarding training and all volunteers have completed safety checks and have safeguarding training. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If none of these are available and you have immediate concerns for a child's safety you should call 999 without delay.
At Rowley Lane, we are always striving for children to reach their full potential across all subject areas. There is no denying that key skills in English and Maths are important in children succeeding in their next phase of education and becoming independent, successful adults who will make a positive contribution to future society.
If parents/carers are concerned about their child's learning, emotional or physical progress and think they may have Special Educational Needs then the person they should speak to is their current class teacher or the SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), Mrs Andrea Haigh.
There are also other opportunities to raise any concerns about their child: at parents' evenings which happen three times a year, however we do have an open door policy and would encourage parents to talk to us as soon as possible.Miss Judy Haigh (Senior Assistant Head Teacher) or Miss Jenny Shore (Headteacher) are also available to discuss any concerns with you.

The summer fair was fantastic yesterday and the atmosphere was ecstatic from start to finish. It was clearly well organised and had a superb turn out of support. My daughter had a great day running around the circus games and occasionally helping me out on my stall. Everyone involved represented the school and preschool brilliantly and im proud that my daughter attends the preschool already.
A great day overall and I’d love to be part of the Christmas fair in November.
Thank you
