Sterling was founded by Clive Sturgess, our Managing Director in 2005. Initially setting up on his own in a home office, supplying drivers to a single client. Later that year, Sterling moved into an office space in Pangbourne, and took on its first employee, and began to supply several clients.
Sterling then expanded into the supply of warehouse staff, something that remains at the core of our business today, and not only supplying local clients in the Reading area, but beginning to supply sites nationwide.We have worked in industries varying from cosmetics, to supermarkets, the automotive industry and many others in between.

Services
We are now able to offer clients a brand new fully managed Onsite Service. Based on our own previous experiences of working through third party invoicing intermediaries, we realised that although they provided our clients with a streamlined option for invoicing when dealing with several agencies, they lacked a fundamental understanding of what was required to supply temporary warehouse labour.
Supplying temporary warehouse labour has always been at the heart of our business. With our experience working on a number of different sites across the country, we understand that often when you need additional support for your warehouse, time is very much of the essence. We are used to dealing with short timeframes, from initial contact and request confirmed, to supplying staff for induction in as little as two days.
Depending on the size of your site, we spend between 1-3 days onsite getting an understanding as you how your agency staff are currently utilised onsite. Armed with this information, we put together a basic report for you with the potential improvements in efficiencies and therefore savings to your business.
Over the course of Sterling's history, we have built connections with a number of people in key management positions. Previously we worked with clients to offer this service on an informal basis to put them in touch with those within our network who would be suitable for more senior management roles.
We are also happy to be able to offer clients various levels of administration support staff, from receptionists to inventory clerks, both inside and outside of the logistics industry. We do offer basic word and excel assessments, but we can tailor these to suit whatever your requirements are.

Been working for Sterling for a few months now on a site based in Worcester, staff and management have been great.
Only improvement I can think about is if there were some kind of phone app or website where we could track our working hours / ROTA. Worked for a few other agencies where they had a phone app and it was pretty successful.
Highly recommend this agency from my opinion.

Very unprofessional company, lacks in respect and is run by power hungry operation manager who doesn’t have an idea what to do within the operations. shes not a peoples person and doesnt know how to speak to people always moody. Have worked with her before worse mistake in my life will ruin you and make you feel un wanted. STAY away not good for your mental health.
