Railway Cottage is the perfect location for a holiday or short break on the Dorset coast. We are ideally situated in Swanage, less than 5 minute's level walk from the beach, bus service, the famous Swanage steam railway and the town centre. We are a room only guest house and do not supply breakfast - our prices reflect this.
There is a key system which allows you to check in at your own convenience anytime after 1pm. You will receive a text in the week prior to your stay with all the check in information. Dogs are more than welcome - we are one of the few places in Swanage that take dogs! We no longer have parking, but we are directly opposite the King George car park which have very competitive rates (you can find rates on swanage.gov.uk/carparkcharges).

Services
It is an outstanding example of geological, geomorphic and physiographic features of the Earth's last 185 million years. There are plenty of activities in Purbeck to keep all the family amused. It has its own steam railway, nearby golf courses, plenty of fine restaurants, cafes and takeaways, a majestic ruined castle, miles of sandy beaches and enough countryside for everyone.

We had a small modern room with comfortable bed and shower room. Brilliant Location. Breakfast is not provided but adequate tea and coffee making facilities are in the room. There is no parking but a large car park is directly opposite. It is quite expensive to park overnight. One street back behind the accommodation is free unlimited parking. Would certainly stay there again.

A comfortable, welcoming home-from-home. Loved the fact that my dog was as warmly welcomed as I was! Great, imaginative breakfasts! Wonderfully located within an easy walk from the seafront, railway station and a dog's dream park. My only regret was I didn't stay longer, but I will be going back for sure. Thanks to the family for a lovely stay.
