Your menu needs a major redesign. Firstly change the :
1 - Spacing between menu items
2 - Main title of the dish to bold, to seperate it from the sides it comes with.
The Apple and Fig crumble came with no fig.
The custard was cold and the consistency (and I imagine, also the blandness) of baby milk.
This was £6.50 😑

I do love this pub but tonight the bouncer used his soggy biscuit mates to deny me entry. They looked liked they were probably called Rupert and forcefully stopped me entering. When I called them out on their appalling chat and lack of SIA badge they started telling me how their dad (who is embarrassed to be related to them and their father) would get involved if I didn't own a Land Rover (I don't). At this point I asked for a real bouncer and along he came this cool 70's (but short) Ted Bundy lookalike with glasses to match but more importantly an SIA badge. When I saw this I knew we were in business

A nice pub with a pretty good vibe, most fellow patrons are quite friendly rather than pushy or stuck-up. The staff are also quite friendly and I've had great chats with them. However, the only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is that they don't have a sizeable selection of in-house mocktails, which is a shame because otherwise The Northcote seems like an awesome place to spend your weekend nights at!

Little rant. Been here twice now and been disappointed both times. The first time we didn't eat but all of the drinks on tap seemed flat?
Then, we came back as the roast looked good but- had to get the veggie (or vegan) since the chicken had run out... the Wellington didn't have any feta in it as advertised and the sides were different which wasn't pointed out in the menu. I don't know if thats the reason the food was bland but it was. It was all below average for an above average price.
Also, I did cut my hand on broken glass that was down the back of my seat (i was looking for my ring) which

Sunday Roast!
Booked a table for two to try the Sunday roast for the first time, we were welcomed by a cheerful member of the staff as a nice start...
We were seated on the first floor, very nice and quiet location.
The food we ordered was amazing, we had
two roast combination (it seems big but worth of it), water and triple cooked chips... delicious!
They are fast as well, I suggest to to order maybe trough their app!
What can I say, the staff is helpful and always smiling making you feel welcomed!
Definitely we'll come back!

I was really disappointed by my visit this evening. My friend lives down the road and I'd noticed their advertisement for a special Burn's Night dinner tonight instructing you to book a table on the night. I booked a table and when I arrived (1) they'd seemed to have lost my reservation, despite my having an email confirmation and there being plenty of signs around other tables showing they were reserved for other people (2) I was abruptly told I was not permitted to order off the Burn's Night menu as making a booking wasn't enough I was also supposed to state I wanted

Very average pub in London. It was great for sitting and chatting for a short while before promptly moving on. The beer list is short, they don't have any fancy cocktails or wine, and seating is a rarity. I guess it's a pretty popular place for locals, where I imagine everyone sits in the same seat every day; creatures of habit for sure!
It certainly wasn't my favorite pub to visit, but it was a-okay.

Let's be clear. This is a city centre pub, not a local. It has some of the highest prices I've encountered in London (almost £5 for pint of shandy), terrible quality (although friendly) bar staff, and it's horrifically busy. Seriously. Find a pub or find a bar but don't compromise with this half way house.
