Services
A family run business where the customer still comes first. Here in our large well equipped workshop we service and repair all makes of cars and light commercial vehicles. We also do MOT tests, air conditioning repairs, auto electrics, tyres and much more. When you bring your vehicle to us for the first time the details are put onto our system so that next time it needs to come in we can have all the right parts ready.
We carry out driving tests, approve people to be driving instructors and MOT testers, carry out tests to make sure lorries and buses are safe to drive, carry out roadside checks on drivers and vehicles, and monitor vehicle recalls. DVSA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Transport.
The most important maintenance item in your engine is the cambelt (also know as Timing Belt). The cambelt's job is to keep the camshaft and crank timed as it should be. Overtime the cambelt will stretch and as a result the engine timing may get delayed. To avoid nasty surprises, you should have your cambelt checked annually.
The very first job any vehicle has is to start - preferably on the first try. However, an older or poorly maintained battery can struggle to do that in the best of conditions, let alone in cold weather or under the heavy drain of today's stereos, sat navs and accessories. Let us test your battery, and we can tell you if it needs replacement.
At Stoney Cross Garage we offer both performance testing and in-depth inspection of your vehicle's brakes. Your brakes are not just vital safety components, they are key to maintaining proper performance (not to mention passing your MOT). Any faulty parts found can be repaired or replaced with high quality components, ensuring both the safety and maximum performance of your vehicle for years to come.

We have used this garage for years, with 4 different cars. Always excellent service, honest practical advice, much better customer service and quality of work than the VW & Ford main dealerships locally. Also good for older cars, putting the customer first, advising when work is not needed yet, but may do in the coming months/year or so, advising on cost-effective options and advising when it is time to say goodbye to a car. I'd never go anywhere else now.
