Two Brothers Restaurant
This Finchley restaurant has been going for 25 years, though there was a fish and chip ship on this site before that (The Golden Galley) and apparently yet another prior to that, going back over 60 years in all. We've retained a traditional decorative style which helps create an intimate and comfortable atmosphere whether you're having a simple one-course lunch or a three-course dinner.

We pride ourselves on using the best local fresh fish where possible. Besides our regular favourites such as our menu changes daily depending on the best of the catch from our suppliers. We also source the best, freshest locally grown produce and ingredients to use with and in our cooking - using the natural seasonality of vegetables to compliment the quality of our seafood as much as we can.

I went with my son who ate most of a haddock in matzoh and chips on his own - and he’s generally quite a fussy eater. The bit I tried - and a fish soup - were both excellent !

We've been a few times, so I think I can offer a fair review. The food is fine, but I feel the prices are too high. For example, when we opted for fish that wasn't battered, which I think is a good test of a fish restaurant, above a standard chippie, the fish didn't seem to have that much flavour (maybe a lack of seasoning). In terms of the battered fish, it's a similar story, the fish is ok, but the batter is not too the same standard as a place such as Toffs of Muswell Hill.
The one strong positive was the Tony's Arbroath Smokies, which tasted really good, lots of flavour and filling.

I wasn't as impressed as most people with my experience. I felt like I was on a conveyor belt of customers. The fish was unseasoned and in my opinion overcooked and dry. The sides were also unseasoned. I wouldn't come here again. With the reputation this restaurant has I was quite disappointed. That being said, the restaurant was clean and the staff were not rude. If you like to eat your fish fairly plain then it is a good place to eat.

Also do a great lobster Thermidor.

The most disgusting food that I ever had. I never complain for the food but this one is smell like dead fish. I can’t believe that not even ate my dogs. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!
I living in n3 for 20 years and every week I do delivery food I never had something like this. I’m so sorry for my self that before see the reviews I placed my order and sorry for Barnet council that I don’t think so they never check this restaurant for sure. I always try to put honest and real review here because I always trust google reviews.
I hope everyone see this review before they place they order. 🙏

So this is what £9 gets you at Two Brothers!! And yes that is a burger bun not a bread roll!! I may get an apology reply but there really isn't one needed. What is needed is quality control. This is unacceptable, £5 for large chips and £3 for curry sauce in a small container. Would not recommend.

Nice chippy with speedy service. The fish and chips are good and lots of options for different allergens, dietary and religious requirements. Basic interior. Decent dessert options too.

Great place (or should I say Plaice)! Fish and chips was amazing, soft flaky white fish with a crisp batter and really tasty! Highly recommend, quick service and not busy at all when I was there, 6:30 on a Sunday. Have a look at the photos!

Friday night and the take out line was super busy! Always a good sign. A bit pricey at £15 for 2 standard cod and chips but they were very fresh and tasty. Pie and chips comes to about £9 for two. This might be a local chippie for us if we can't be bothered to walk or drive further out. Good service.

I experienced the fish and chips take out side of the business. i can only say i gave most places a second chance. but have not returned to this restaurant.

they were a little busy, but still had to wait for too long for a couple of meals (over a quarter of an hour.) when we unwrapped to eat, the fish batter was under-cooked. chips, over cooked and cold(left on hot hold too long.)

busy?, yes, don't skimp on quality.

poor selection of add on sides(for customers)/sales(for business) available.

disappointed as its the only fish and chips shop i have found, yet!!

I really do love the fish and chippy but rate it second to Sea Shell of Lisson Grove.

There is however no reason to not make the journey to North London as Two Brothers really does serve lovely fish and chips and lunch and dinner are equally lovely.

It seems an awfully long way for me to go to get some fish and chips, but last year, I made the trek in my car which took me about an hour and a half. There were a few more reasons than the fact that Two Brothers are reported to do some of the finest fish and chips in London.

I was going with a friend of mine who used to date the owners son. She wanted to show her face and say hello. I am glad that we made the journey. The decor is restaurant quality. There was an art deco feel to the large venue, with booths and banquette seating. It is the type of place that you take your time enjoying your
