Lismore House Dental Practice
The practice was founded in 2001 and is owned by Mark and Rebecca Fortune. We are family owned and run, large enough to offer the full range of treatments but small enough to provide personalised care, where you will feel like one of the family. We provide routine dental care for all the family, cosmetic dentistry such as veneers, composite bonding and tooth whitening and advanced dentistry including dental implants.

We provide adult dentistry privately, either via one of our plans or on a fee-per-item basis. We have a small NHS contract which we reserve for children, allowing us to provide children's dentistry without any charge. We provide all of this in a safe and modern environment with disabled access as well as baby changing facilities.
Services
We strive to create a relaxed, friendly environment in which our patients access the very best dental care. The pursuit of excellence is at the heart of everything we do. We aim to fully inform our patients, supporting them through the process of choosing their dental care. All members of the team follow these core philosophies, providing you with the best service.
Mark graduated from Glasgow Dental School in 2007, achieving a distinction in the final professional exams. He has a passion for dentistry and has aspired to be a dentist from an early age. Since graduating he has had a varied career, working in Lanarkshire for four years in a mixed practice, then as a dental officer with the Australian Government, then part-time in private practice in Dumfries, as well as part-time in Carlisle.
A dental bridge is a method of restoring a space due to missing teeth within the mouth. A bridge is attached to one or two teeth either side of the space. There are two main types of bridge. The first is classed as a conventional bridge. The tooth or teeth that hold the conventional bridge are "prepared", with some of the tooth being ground away.
Veneers and crowns can be used to improve the appearance of teeth if they are worn, cracked, discoloured or poorly aligned. Dental veneers are an artificial porcelain facing, which is cemented to the tooth. Crowns are an artificial tooth which is cemented over your prepared tooth. Near instant results are achieved but the process does involve damaging the teeth during preparation.
If a tooth is very heavily restored, has been root treated, or has broken badly it may benefit from a dental crown, instead of a normal filling. Crowns restore a tooth to normal function and strength, as well as beauty. A crown is a covering which is cemented over a prepared tooth. A crown is usually placed to provide strength to a heavily restored tooth, although they may also be placed to improve the appearance of teeth.

I cannot recommend this dental practice highly enough. To break a tooth in these difficult times, was horrifying and a nightmare.
Mark and his team were professional, kind, caring and so reassuring. Helping me get my smile back again. Thank you Mark and Mary his dental nurse, who was so patient and lovely.

I’ve been really scared of going to the dentist as long as I can remember. I was quite anxious when Mr Foxton retired worrying about who would be taking over.
I had nothing to worry about as Mark is really nice and has helped me a lot overcome been frightened.
He has a good approach in carrying out dental treatment and our children are happy to go.
The rest of the staff are all very friendly and welcoming on each visit.
I would definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking for a good Dentist.
