Biscuit was founded in 2015 by Amanda Mitchell, who with years of experience as a department store buyer behind her, ventured out on her own with the aim of providing a beautiful and welcoming environment in which you can always pick up something that inspires you. This could be something to wear, something to give or something that you now need.
The perfect eclectic mix of clothing and living, under one roof. Opening at 22 Thistle Street in Edinburgh's trendy New Town, Amanda began doing just that, handpicking and sourcing designers and products to suit the modern woman.

It's time to raise a glass to one of our all time favourite brands - Dutch label POM Amsterdam. Founded 10 years ago by sister due Violet and Liesbeth, POM, which stands for Piece of Mine, began as an accessories brand. Now the fashion label create unique printed clothing alongside their best selling triangular scarves.
American Vintage is up there with one of out all time favourite brands for essential t-shirts, casual sweaters and everyday jumpers. Thicker than a simple t-shirt but not as thick as your favourite sweatshirt, the the Sonoma is by far the strongest piece from the range, an easy to wear style of tee that comes in a huge variety of colours.
The New Pre Fall collection from Olivia Rubin has landed online and in our Bruntsfield store just in time for the weekend. Inspired by all things sweet, the new edit features candy pink shades, pretty pastels and the brand's signature colour blocking. We love the brand for their playful take on clothing, they show you that you don't ever have to take fashion or life to seriously.
Ophelia & Indigo was a brain child of friends Claire and Lucy, both from London but having relocated to New York with their families due to work. Set up in the middle of a pandemic. Designed in Brooklyn, New York, and made by skilled artisans in India, each piece is unique thanks to the age old technique of hand block printing.
Caring for your cashmere jumpers and accessories will mean they last the test of time and that you will still be wearing them in years to come. Yes cashmere can be seen as a costly investment but it lasts and when it is properly cared for it will still look new after years of wear.
Regular washing is the most effective way to help maintain the appearance of your cashmere as after about 10 washes the excess fibres that cause the pilling will almost disappear completely.Place on a fresh dry towel on the floor and leave to dry naturally (keep away from heat sources as this creates felting).

Just visited Halifax and I was dying to go to this store. They have a lot of very unique clothing and bric a brac at the front of the store.
I went in three times during my week in Halifax and left empty handed. I found it REALLY overpriced for the quality and the sizes available were so limited. Lots of small and extra small. Even the mediums and larges I tried on were way off track for sizing.
The last time I went in a girl was standing near the back office and glared at me for a solid minute. I thought she was another customer being rude for whatever reason. After I picked up a shirt she surprised

Very cute general store on Argyle street! Was fun for me as a tourist to pop in and take a look around at all the fun gifts. I didn’t realize that it was half a clothing store though, and personally I wished there were more odds and ends instead.
Love the outdoor design of the store as well. Cool spot in Halifax for sure!

Love their unique selection of clothing and accessories. The staff is friendly and always really helpful when asked. My only quibble would be how difficult it can be to find that 'perfect' dress that catches your eye in the corner in your size. This is not a knock on Buscuit but more an annoyance it can be shopping somewhere with unique clothing lines.

I was horrified to discover you sell fur. You have such a lovely range of Scandi clothing and the Bruntsfield shop is such a lovely addition. However it's appalling and disgraceful that you sell fur. My friend and I were interested in a buying few items and then walked out when we discovered the fur. You lost two sales that day and two customers… until you take a more ethical approach to retail. As much as I love many items, I can't purchase them and reward a business that endorses the fur trade. Edinburgh or anywhere for that matter doesn't need real fur. Please reconsider, it's offensive
